U.S. Taliban fighter John Walker Lindh returned to federal court on April 1, 2002 as his lawyers battled with government prosecutors over what kind of evidence can be used in his conspiracy trial. This picture, released by Lindh's lawyers on April 1, 2002 as part of the evidence, was taken by the US government when Lindh was at Camp Rhino in Kandahar, Afghanistan, in December 2001. Why won't you answer my questions?
Would you have allowed him to continue to excercise his first amendment rights while in captivity? (You know, publish a newsletter or host a radio show, broadcasting any information he has learned.)
Would you have allowed him to retain his second amendment rights? (Carry a loaded handgun, or a rifle or two. After all he is an American citizen, convicted of no crime.)
Do you think we had the right to search his belongings, or should we have consulted a stateside judge, and obtained a warrant first?
The U.S. Constitution applies to persons on US soil. You really can't be so much of an idiot to think otherwise.
Here's a test. Go to China, Iraq, or Iran and speak your mind about the current regime. Then assert your first amendment rights, genius.
You should date Lori Berenson.

Read your passport; when you take up arms against the country, YOU give up your rights and citizenship.

Do you lose the rights only, or citizenship also? Do members of the armed forces lose their constitutional rights as well when fighting abroad?
Members of our armed forces are fighting for our side not for allah....and not killing Americans.. can you comprehend the difference?

Does that look like torture to you? Are you aware of what the Taliban did to people who weren't on their side BEFORE they killed them? They SKINNED THEM ALIVE.
This guy looks like he's at a spa compared to that.

he figured the day would come when he could hide behind the U. S. Constitution and be supported by "thoughtful" citizens like yourself. An most excellent thought! And so very true.

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
The constitution does NOT apply over seas. Get a spine and stop sticking up for this piece of filth.

"Are you aware of what the Taliban did to people who weren't on their side BEFORE they killed them? They SKINNED THEM ALIVE." You just PROVED Johnny's defense! If he had tried to leave the Taliban they would have skinned him alive. I guess he had little choice but to await his eventual rescue by the Americans.

LOL and its only cruel if she plucks your chest hairs.

Why is he always referred to as "US Taliban Fighter" or "American Taliban Fighter" or whatever?????
Too me, he gave up his citizenship the moment he put on that robe/uniform/whatever of the taliban. Too refer to him as an American is disgusting. He obviously does not want to be an American, indicated thorugh his actions, why should anybody refer to him as such?

Are you one of his lawyers?
That ain't gonna fly. He told the Newsweek AND CNN reporters he APPROVED of 9-11.
When he KNEW he was in the presence of CIA agents, he could have said, "I'm an American, I need help." But he didn't, did he?
