Well, it probably was easier in a way. But what we have now is more functional. Really, if you click on and subscribe to [topics] (Upper right), you'll probably like having them listed on the right. It's also nice to have an alert on the main page when you have a reply...

Old format was much easier to read. Period. You could go through the threads much faster as see what was up. No sir, don't like it. Oh well, nothing ever improves.

So, can you explain to me, in non-techie language what's actually changed, other the the overall "look"? It seems you've gone to a lot of trouble and have mostly what you had before, due to freepers frantic requests, except with a different background, after all is said and done.

You're right. I still have a hard time finding the actual "latest posts"... I think they'll be clarifying the topics vs forums deal soon, and probably offer a site-wide "latest posts" option. At least I hope so...

If we can be really specific about what we want to see, I think they'll accommodate our needs ASAP. They made a whole lot of changes today... so it is still a work in progress. Now's the time to put in your requests. =]

But now, even the blue table background on the left is gone, and I'm so disappointed. That added so, so much class and branding potential to the design, and yet cost nothing. Please bring it back? Pretty please? LOL

The flag had to go, but the blue was nice and I kind of miss it already!

The new design seems fairly straightforward.
My only suggestion would be for more consistency:

1. for personal pages (My Comments, etc.) I'd like to have the same topbar as the forums, for example:
My Settings Latest | Search | Topics | Members | Post

2. I'd like both sidebar toggles available at all times:
Show Threads/All and Show Full/Brief headers
where threads are displayed, not needed for My Mail, etc.

3. I'd like selecting a post #110 of 135 link to use my Window preference: Self, Blank, Slave
