By the way, we will be working over the weekend and the next few days, to try to make the new FR face lift a little less shocking. It will all be back to (almost) normal soon. Hang in there.
Have received thousands of comments, emails and FRmail complaints and compliments today (running about 10 to 1 in the complaint department). Will not be able to answer all (or even most), but we will do what we can to make things better.
Thanks,
Jim

Like I tried to tell all the Nervous Nellies, all will be well.
I like the idea of a revamp, and I knew that the J Rob's would be listening and tweaking the thing.

Thanks for the hard work. After some minimal exploration, I found several improvements that I think are great. No complaints from me!

People hate change, JimRob, more so as we get older! LOL!!!
So far, looks like the primary complaint is people need a AAA Trip-Ticket to navigate the Forums...

I'll take 10!
Jim, I really do like the new format and features.
Thanks so much to you and your crew for putting so much sweat into this.
And I hope you make a million $$$++ selling your conferencing software. I've been in this biz for 20+ years and whatever tweaks you're doing are great.
Time to put your software on the market.

Come on in and Relax while we Help You to Look 5-10 Years Younger... I don't care about looking younger. I just want to look like Elvis Presley.

It's working great -- took some getting used to but I'm well into really digging the new features. My guess is the 10-to-1 complaints vs. compliments will be reversed very quickly. It seems like most of the whining is being done about "breaking news" not being in the right-hand column. would it be possible to run a temporary banner offering the (very simple) instructions on putting it there? I'll bet most of the complaints would be headed off at the pass that way. Thanks to you and JohnRob. It's a great job!

Well, how much is the stuff? I might buy some if it comes with a "pocket fisherman" or a "vegamatic".
But no Ginsu knives. I'm not allowed to handle sharp objects.

Don't sweat the whiners.
There's really nothing to complain about.
They just don't know what they're doing.

The jury's still out over at the Cyber household. A few are really mad about things. I see good things, but I see other things not so good happening.

Jim, Having worked in computers for almost 20 years I am painfully aware of how resistant people can be to
any kind of change in their computer setup.
And I must admit that when I stumbled out of bed this morning and pulled up FR, I realized that I was going to have to come off of autopilot and get a couple of cups of coffee in me. However after working with it for about 15 minutes I was back in the game. I particularly like they way it can be customized to suit my taste, and I think it looks much more professional than the previous interface.
A forum that does not change, stagnates. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for adding more Breaking News stories to the sidebar. Just that change alone made a lot of Freepers happy.

It took a couple trys to get this set the I want it, and figure out how it works, but it's alright and I'm sure it will get better. Thanks for all the work you have put into it.

It will all be back to (almost) normal soon. Hang in there. This is comforting. Badoe says "Thank you," too. Appreciate your post (though I'm lucky I found it). However, when you hit 50, you start paying more attention to the word "face lift."
