Too much muck on the page!!

Muck on the left, muck on the right, muck on the top.

KEEP IT CLEAN!

One page for the Posts, another for all the Muck.

Put on a toggle button so you can toggle back and forth between the two,
from Muck to Content and back to Muck again.

If you click on that, you get "all comments" -- not "all articles."

click it again:
should toggle between what used to be "Latest Posts" and "Latest Articles" - that is, between newly posted articles and newly posted replies/articles

'My Preferences' has the option for "Choose the number of results to return when viewing latest posts, searches, etc." under "Browsing"

I clicked it again, and -- according to the screen -- I am now looking at the latest articles in the "News/Activism" forum only.

Provide an option to remove the right sidebar.

That's an interesting idea ... you mean have a "Breaking News" sidebar with an option to remove it?

Bring back the "All Articles" page.

I'd like that too.

Have an Artificial Intelligence module monitor the level of whine. When a user escalates beyond a certain tolerable level, have a potent hollographic but tangible hand come out of the screen and grab the simpleton by the throat and shake them real good.

Then play a rather loud and obnoxious song about "GET A LIFE--AS IN GET A BRAIN FIRST AND THEN GET A LIFE."

Then a med module could dispense a time limited suitable amount of valium. Then the rest of us could merrily FREEP in relative peace.

MORE SERIOUSLY . . . I LOVE OPTIONS, THE MORE THE BETTER. But I understand how they flumox some people and immobilize others.

Sooooo perhaps an initial toggle between BASIC and CLEAN vs OPTIONS GALORE.

Beyond that--saleable tickets for donkey rides for those determined to act like one.

ROTFLMAO!!

There's going to be a few people in here who will have a serious fit when their local broadcaster's turn off the analog signal. The rules on the books now say that will happen in 2006. The people whining about the changes here will be screaming then about change...

No doubt.

Then again, there's the bit about an EMP weapon taking out all radio etc.

There's even the story about some personnel being trained to telepathically communicate with the oversight ET's because the government knows there'll be a time when electronic communications of all kinds will be nonexistent. An interesting story.

In any case, given the nature, rate and magnitude of changes here and coming, whining may be understandable but still rather silly and not very supportive of overcoming.

Some have never learned to do something active about the cause of their distress of simply shut-up.

The bad news is that it doesn't work for me. When I set the "thread pagination" at 250, the number of titles that show up is also 250 (even though I set the number of titles to be 50, or 20). When I change the thread pagination to 50, the number of titles dutifully follows.

A clarification . . . the number of titles shown in a listing of titles, varies. The number of titles shown does NOT follow the "thread pagination" setting when the site is being viewed as "Latest Posts (Subjects)."

But, the number of titles shown DOES follow the "thread pagination" setting when the site is being viewed as "Latest Messages."

I prefer to view FR in "Latest Messages" mode, because it is common that older topics will be renewed by a "bump." I would like the site layout better if the number of titles listed in "Latest Messages" mode did not follow the "thread pagination" setting. To me, the "thread pagination" setting should be effective only when building a page that views a single thread, not when building a page that lists numerous thread titles.
