Thanks very much- I started this about 27 hours ago, naively thinking that an hour and a half would be plenty of time to cull the 'best of' links...whew!
I was surprised at how many posts which had good, useful data have been deleted, particularly a lot of Cuba/terrorism articles. The "Gay Wars" seem to have taken a lot of hits, too. I know there are problems on any board with provocatuers and trolls hijacking threads, but a lot of information was lost, too.
Americans need more information, not less- we are going to see a real flare-up in the Carribean/Latin America axis, and in Africa... and the Middle East, and we need to stay up to speed on these areas.

Americans need more informationAgreed, but can you add a few more hours to the day so we can digest the info? :)
Bump for your excellent work! Hey, I'm just happy I could find your thread with the new format this morning. I didn't even know where I was when I first logged on. (Guess I should have taken the time to try the Beta version of the forum). Oh well, it took a few minutes, but I think I can navigate FR again. Thanks again!

Thank you both....
Eaglette, I'm glad I'm not the only one having a problem with the new format- it is driving these old eyes nuts trying to comprehend what's on the page!
I've always had difficulty following a lot of on-screen information ( a puzzlement- the same page, printed, poses no problems, but I discovered this late in life after computers became common ) and I am having a devil of a time finding things. SonnaB!tch, it's always something!

I prefer to print articles to read offline too rather than having to read everything on screen. Not only better for your eyes, but it frees up my phone line as I still use dial up access to the Net. Sometimes it's not practical to print print everything I read so I just have to bit the bullet and read online...oh well. At least for now, we have access to "Worlds" of info at the the touch of our finger tips. Have a great day my friend!

I really do believe the web will have a more profound effect on human knowledge than moveable type did centuries ago- neither of my nieces can recall a time when they could not get reams of information just by "looking it up on the 'net." It sure is different- and better- than the not-so-old days of "take a yellow notepad to the library and hope you find one book on a subject...."

Why, thank you kindly! I found a lot of links that still have some relevance to current events, and some that fall into the "better not forget this" category, too.

Yikes, backhoe! Now that's a list... of horrific proportions.
(Someone please wake me up when it's over?)
