Israeli police storm Jerusalem's most contested holy site
Israeli police have stormed into the most sensitive religious site in the Holy Land, throwing stun grenades at Palestinian rock-throwers, police said.
After Friday prayers at the Al Aqsa Mosque on the disputed hilltop in the Old City of Jerusalem, Palestinian youths started throwing rocks at Israeli police posted at a gate just outside, and at Jewish worshippers at the Western Wall below, police said.
Police stormed into the open area outside the mosque and threw stun grenades, according to a police announcement. Police said the rock-throwing was continuing, and police were on the scene.
One policeman was lightly injured by a rock, police said.
The site is known to Muslims as Haram as-Sharif, the Noble Sanctuary, which holds two large mosques. Muslims revere it as the site from where the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven.
Eighteen months of Palestinian-Israeli violence erupted after Ariel Sharon, now Israel's prime minister, visited the site in September 2000 to emphasize Israel's claim of sovereignty to what they call the Temple Mount. The two mosques are built atop the ruins of the biblical Jewish Temples.

Good, I'm glad Arafat is not afraid to die. (I suppose that's why he's not out in the streets with his people, too.)
That would be the expected answer. I wonder. He has been so adaptable in his actions to retain his power. Is he still a true believer, or has he become hooked on the power and percs of his position?
Yes I have heard it .. Other posters here are more knowledgable then I am on this subject but if I recalled Iraq also gives a nice chunk of change to these families ..
I think that Israel can defeat it's immediate neighbors with conventional forces, and take out the more distant possibilities (Iraq, Iran, the Arabian peninsula states, Egypt, and north Africa) with the nukes. This would involve taking out Saddam Hussein, among others, and I will not shed a tear!!
According to the agreement made in '67, the arabs still agreed to the temple mount as israeli terriroty. But because they are always lying murderers, the arabs have been busy destroying archeological evidence, denying/mythologicalizing the temple, denying access to anyone except muslims - silently preparing their plans for a holocaust.

Islam has no "sanctuary" because there is nothing holy Islam.
If Islam were representing the Almighty, they would be honoring YHWH and following his Torah, with his levitical priests.
However, we all know that Islam uses the Koran, honors a different so-called god and has complete hatred for YHWH's own nation, Israel.
HUH??? .. then why did the pig pull a gun on his aid a few weeks back if he not afraid to die ??

Egypt getting involved in this would be the scariest scenario. With everyone else getting into this Israel could not afford to be delicate, it would have to decisively take Egypt, the largest Arab state, out of the picture completely.
The easiest way to do this would be to blowup the Aswan dam, and send all of Lake Nasser down the Valley of the Nile. This would result in the deaths of virtually the entire population of Egypt, 20 million plus I think, and would fill the entire Mediterranean Sea with their rotting corpses, spreading plague and death to every country in north Africa and southern Europe, as well as the Levant and Turkey. I think that this would get everyone's attention.
Keep your eyes on the ball, guys! Any of us who are still alive in April can settle this question then, OK?
And while they are at it, kill that bloody swine Arafat, when Israel shows that kind of in your face strength and determination, that kind of lack of concern for the opinion of the Arab world, the world in general in fact, the Arab world will back off, the U.N. will look the other way, and Europe will shut the heck up. It's the only way to treat mindless bullies, punch them square in the nose and dare them to cross that line in the dirt.
While the homosexual scandal in the Catholic Church may or may not mark the begining of the "great falling away", the man of sin who makes a covenant with Israel for seven years has not shown up on the scene yet, the global dictator of the one world government.
Israel may be entering into a time of peace wherein the Temple is rebuilt. When Muslims fail at war, destruction, and brutal oppression they fall back on lying flattery and feigned friendship. They are like their father, the devil, who was a liar and a murderer from the begining. The west cannot understand them, because the we can't grasp the fact that there is no truth in these people and certainly no honor as most men in the West understand honor.
