Israeli police storm Jerusalem's most contested holy site
Israeli police have stormed into the most sensitive religious site in the Holy Land, throwing stun grenades at Palestinian rock-throwers, police said.
After Friday prayers at the Al Aqsa Mosque on the disputed hilltop in the Old City of Jerusalem, Palestinian youths started throwing rocks at Israeli police posted at a gate just outside, and at Jewish worshippers at the Western Wall below, police said.
Police stormed into the open area outside the mosque and threw stun grenades, according to a police announcement. Police said the rock-throwing was continuing, and police were on the scene.
One policeman was lightly injured by a rock, police said.
The site is known to Muslims as Haram as-Sharif, the Noble Sanctuary, which holds two large mosques. Muslims revere it as the site from where the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven.
Eighteen months of Palestinian-Israeli violence erupted after Ariel Sharon, now Israel's prime minister, visited the site in September 2000 to emphasize Israel's claim of sovereignty to what they call the Temple Mount. The two mosques are built atop the ruins of the biblical Jewish Temples.

While reading the post, I was thinking of how close to the brink we are! What's going to stop all of this? Someone MUST step forward to guarantee "peace" to Israel. Then we will know who the Antichrist is.
I wonder what people would think if it were the usual custom of Christians to run out of Sunday worship of YHWH to throw rocks and start riots. I think people would start to wonder what the heck is going in those church buildings. It sure makes me wonder what is going on in those mosques.

and furthermore let me note that for 1380 years now ALL Christians, even those who were guilty of anti-semitism, have ALWAYS AGREED THAT JUDAISM IS INFINITELY PREFERABLE TO ISLAM, and it has always been taught by the Vatican that, if the last Jew were to perish, the last Christian would already have perished a moment before.
In fact, the Crusades esp. the First, killed some Jews mainly because they as non-Christian WERE CONFUSED WITH MUSLIMS, thought "infidels too" by unlettered peasants--that there was unfortunate Jewish bykill unwanted by any Christian of education or culture.
... so your "rioters" would be coming out of churches not on Sunday anymore, but on the Sabbath like the Jerusalem and Israeli custom is, that has SO much more soul behind it anyway...

All Christians: 33% of mankind (over 2 billion); Muslims: 22% (about 1.3 billion). Next are Hindus, then secularists such as the Atheists or agnostics, then Buddhists. There are approximately 14 million Jews in the world.
Kind of makes me wonder why the Muslims are so fearful of the Jews who make up just .0031% of the world's population.

I do not know what your motives are--other than that you seem enraptured with your own cant, and cannot appreciate the difference between rational theology, and the mere spouting of the unanalyzed words of others. But a lot of people in several far off lands could get killed over your sort of ex cathedra pronouncements.
The fact that two Faiths--or two denominations of a Faith--or two different scholars--or two different families--disagree over some of the characteristics of a deity, does not determine whether or not they look to the same deity. People also argue over the characteristics, beliefs and parentage of other humans. That does not determine anything other than the specifics that either or any side of any argument can demonstrate.
A week or so ago, you were advocating the destruction of a great religious site under the bizarre theory that such destruction would trigger a divine event. In that you clearly showed your personal contempt for the basic premises of all Biblically based faiths, as you were implying that a depraved human act could control the Divinity. You will not find any serious theologian who would subscribe to such view. Now, you are using a foolish, verbal argument, to make a point that is simply not true. However, Jews, Christians and Moslems--and indeed the different denominations of Jews, Christians and Moslems, even within each of the broader Faiths--differ as to the attributes and intentions of the God of Abraham, they all clearly identify the same God.
In the first instance, calling for the destruction of a religious shrine in the name of God, you were taking the name of the Lord in vain. Now you are bearing false witness. Get over what ever is tormenting you, and stop trying to urge other people to get themselves killed, because of your absurd interpretation of passages which are not a direction but a prediction, with virtually no relevance to the present cast of players.

I'm not so sure about this. The other Arab nations have pretty much ignored the Palies. They don't want them and they don't want to help them, IMO. If they wanted to do so, then they could have arranged for a Palie state on Jordan's western border.
Also, the Arab nations KNOW that Israel has weapons of mass destruction that they will NEVER hesitate to use to protect themselves. I think they would even do pre-emptive strikes if the Arabs look like they are mobilizing. They could easily take out Baghdad where the real bully in all of this resides. He's been paying money to the families of suicide bombers--he recently upgraded the award to $35,000.
