— JERUSALEM (Reuters) - A senior Palestinian official said Friday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon had declared a comprehensive war on Palestinians and appealed to the world to stop Israel's siege of Yasser Arafat's compound.

"The Israeli government, which practices state terrorism, has declared a comprehensive war and Sharon is intent on destroying the Palestinian Authority and the peace process," the Palestinians' chief negotiator, Saeb Erekat, told Reuters.

He said Sharon was dragging the region into further bloodshed and said he had contacted Arab and international leaders, urging them to do whatever possible to stop the Israeli army's operation against Arafat's headquarters in Ramallah.

Sharon, in a televised news conference Friday, declared Arafat "an enemy" and said widespread action would be taken to isolate his Palestinian Authority wherever it was believed to be fostering a "terrorist infrastructure."

Sharon sent troops and tanks sweeping back into Ramallah, which was handed over to Palestinian self-rule under interim peace deals in the 1990s, after accusing Arafat of doing nothing to stop suicide bombings targeting Israelis. Palestinians rose up against Israel after talks on a final peace accord stalled.

Israel need to reoccupy all of Palestine, disarm it and treat it like a protectorate.

And what exactly are the Arab leaders going to do? Go to war against Israel? I don't think so, 1967 was not pretty, I don't think they want thier heads handed to them a 2nd time.

Since defeat in 1973 (and 1967, 1956, 1948) the arab states have decided to not use their state military against Israel. The major exception was 1991 Iraq scuds.

The tactic selected is to train the children to become guerilla-human bombs. It is a principle of war to "Know the Enemy." Israel should totally physically isolate itself from any and all arabs, if possible. Any arab inside the boundary would be a dead arab.
