When you list just some of the incredible Conservative achievements of this fine President, it is absolutely stunning that he has done all of it in only 14 months! I was brought to tears by your conclusion. I too, have copied it, and printed it for all I know to read, and agree with those who say you need to publish it, and get it to Rush.
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!
Perhaps if you see in writing what this man has done, you will support your fine President.
I have maintained from the beginning that if the American people just saw the President and First Lady as they really are, they would love them. For so long the media kept them out of view. Now that America sees what incredible, yet very real people they are, they do love them. Even if you aren't a dog lover, if you have half of a heart, you can't see the President with Spot or Barney and not like the guy!
Sorry I missed that one!
Sadly, some people enjoy being negative.
It seems to me that President Bush and the Lovely First Lady have this affect on a lot of liberals .. It shows me that President Bush has amazing character and judgment and all are finally realizing this .. and I thank God every day for blessing us with this wonderful Man
You could tell that President and Mrs. Bush really love Spot, Barney and India. Mrs. Bush acted like Spot and India's parents, trying to separate him from her. And it was really sweet seeing how much President Bush really cares about Spot. The interviewer, a veterinarian, compared President Bush to Spot in that they're both second generation White House occupants, and asked if maybe that's why he seemed so much closer to her than to the other pets and President Bush agreed, that that could be why. It almost seemed as if President Bush knows that Spot may not be around too much longer, and he wants to spend as much time with her as he can, or at least that's the feeling I got. And Bryant Gumbel seemed truly enamored of little Barney.
I was a bit surprised that it was such a positive piece on the Bushes. I guess I should give kudos to CBS for this, at least this one time.
..... I'm putting it in the "will-wonders-never-cease" file .... :-)
Jayne, this is an easy essay of the day, week, month, and year. Perhaps essay of a lifetime might be a slight exaggeration, maybe. 8^)
How right you are. Unfortunately, the leftist media (especially C-Span) is still trying to keep President Bush out of view.
Thanks ...
Rintense .. could I please be on your ping list .. please .. pretty please .. I promise to be good .. lol
DANG, I wish I'd seen that. If only there were some way to know in advance about things like that.
JH2...wonderful essay, my friend. You truly are talented. It was great to read first thing this morning.
I've been thinking a bit about the Rush business. Maybe it isn't such a bad thing to have Rush bashing Bush. This way, the liberals and the media (one and the same, I know) can't say Bush is just taking talking points from Limbaugh. It also defangs any image of Bush being part of the dreaded 'vast right wing conspiracy.' I know it may upset SOME conservatives - and I don't think most on this forum are really Republicans but rather Libertarians and the like - but it also helps portray him as in the middle. Politics, unfortunately, is greatly affected by image and images and if you want to win, you've got to play the game. So, perhaps it isn't such a bad thing afterall.
Ohio...I finished the book and will mail it out today. I'm not going to use MAIL BOXES, ETC. which is what I used for patriciaruth. I'm going down there today to read them the riot act. 3 days, my arse. It's been almost a week now! Errrr.
Looks like W's got a pretty good tennis swing. Would sure like to see him play someday. ;o)
Just said on the news that it's in the 80s in Texas today. I am SO JEALOUS! I'm sure W is lovin' it.
Well, I'm off for the morning's activities. See ya later.
I believe individual freedom to participate in elections should be expanded, not diminished; and when individual freedoms are restricted, questions arise under the First Amendment.
I also have reservations about the constitutionality of the broad ban on issue advertising, which restrains the speech of a wide variety of groups on issues of public import in the months closest to an election.
I expect that the courts will resolve these legitimate legal questions as appropriate under the law.
President George W. Bush, March 27, 2002
I am sure the President would have vetoed the bill if he thought there was no chance the Supreme Court would rule on it.
Exactly. Vetoing it would just have McCain and Company come back again and again. Let's kill it for good, by having the Supremes rule it unconstitutional. Plus, he'll still get the hike in the amount you can contribute in hard money.
