Trifecta! Who will be #3?

Bob Hope?

They always go in threes.. who's next?

My guess is Bob Hope. He looks like a walking corpse to me. (And believe me, I loved him in the "Road" pictures.)

He always smoked H. Upman cigars. I'll dig one out and smoke it tonight in his honor.

  Churchills, I believe.

Allow me give you one and we'll walk Uncle Miltie into Heaven ...

I've been reading both posts about Uncle Miltie. Haven't seen one bad word yet. Maybe, unlike some stars you all know, he never tried to change the world to his own precepts, he just entertained.

I remember as a youngster avidly watching Mr. Berle on our grainy, 7-inch black and white TV. His presence filled the screen and then some.

God bless you, Milton. Thanks for the memories (or as you would probably say, the mammeries!)

Thank you sir. I found my H Upmans but they're more like a lonsdale in size.

Good Night, Uncle Miltie.

Don't even begin to compare air-a-FART to Mr. T.V.

one of the BIGGER stars

Do you listen to Bob and Tom on the radio? I remember a show where they talked about Uncle Miltie's 'gift'. They also mentioned Tom Brokaw, David Cassdiy...and be-baw...well, not be-baw...that's a closely held secret.

Uncle Miltie always stole his lines from others. So, why not once more? "Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated." And possibly, "I will my jokes to Henny Youngman, all the ones he hasn't stolen already." >p>Ba-dump-bumb. Thanks Uncle Miltie. Sleep well. Mr. Television. Thursdays will never be the same.

Several years ago Milton Berle spoke at one of the big awards (Emmys?) and gave a very moving address. Anyone have the text?

Have to relate this story. Regarding Uncle Miltie's "member", he was in a locker room at a gym with other Hollywood people, and this subject came up. Another man challenged him on just how big he was. After he showed his and it was Uncle Miltie's turn, a person observing this said "just take out enough to beat him".

Yes, George Burn's DID make it to 100 but died just a few week's later. I alway's liked George Burn's. I thought he was a riot. He was so amazing, acting in movies till he was 95 year's old. Sadly, I'm sorry to say, I think Bob Hope will be the next actor to pass through the Pearly Gates.

At the 9 o'clock hour, NBC just had a nice brief tribute. They flashed up a black & white picture of him on the screen and said something like, "NBC honors the life of television pioneer Milton Berle."
