And most Republicans of a few years ago would be the first to advocate that. Today, many of them are Democrats in disguise who aren't in the least bit interested in the founder's ideals.

Yes and that party evolved into the Democrat Party. The Democrats claim Jefferson as their first Democrat President even though Gore couldnt identify bust of him at Monicello. Jefferson died in 1826 and the Republican Party didnt begin until 1854. I believe the Democratic Republican was shortened to Democrat with President Jackson.
