"I vowed that was the last time I would vote for the "lesser of two evils"."

Dang, I missed that. Please add that to my reply to Fred Mertz.

This scenario is very similar to what happened in Arizona each time McCain was up for re-election: Not many dared make too much of a fuss, and the ones who did, didn't have a chance! The local "news" paper, the TV and some radio stations backed him. He was a shoo-in. I voted for his more conservative GOP opponent in the Primary, it made me feel good, even tho' it didn't do any good!

While your argument is correct, you have ignored or are too stupid to get the point. Liddy Dole would not have any claim to fame if not for her spouse. Her spouse was a war hero, but a political failure who kept winning elections and losing issues for conservatism. This event clearly states the case that conservatives need to turn their backs on the Republican Party because the Republican Party has clearly turned its back on conservatism. While I have been one of the staunchest supporters of the idea of defeating the Democratic Party and that the Republican Party is the only political party that can defeat Demmocrats, the truth is that the Republicans are joining the Democrats' through issue adoption. Republicans are enacting the Democratic agenda. Any victory of Republicans over Democrats is largely empty of substance. Nothing gets the attention quicker than a 2x4 between the eyes. I think it would be a serious mistake for conservatives to stay home in the fall elections. On the contrary, I think we should turn out in droves and work to get the vote out. But instead of voting for Republicans, we should vote for Libertarians or the Constitutional Party or anyother conservative candidate or party in the race. Voting for Democrats or other liberal candidates would be a serious mistake. After the elections results are tabulated, we want to make it easy for the Republican Party and potential Republcian candidates to get the message as to where the votes really are.

If this doesn't work, and admittedly it may not, then it is time for secession. Secession may ultimately prove to be the best option anyway. TERM LIMITS of members of Congress and the federaly judiciary is the only hope of restoring Constitutional integrity to our country, and frankly I don't see it happening over the self-interest of the current powers to be. The only other option is a Constitutional Convention. And perhaps this is worthy of consideration before secession.

Anyway you look at the political options and future of the United States, it is not a pretty picture. The unfunded liabilities of Social Security and Medicare cannot be funded and paid for. The political clout to fix them is expiring at the rate of ten per cent per year. The clock will run out in 2012. There will be no presidential election in 2016 if we don't solve this financial problem before it becomes a crises in 2012. Basically it will have to be solved on Bush's or if he is a one term president, his successor's watch. Without a major shift to the right in Congress, this is not going to happen. For the near term, there is no clear cut leadership or movement that could in effect reduplicated the 1994 Congressional elections. The strategy that I have outlined above can demonstrate to the country and its political leaders the realities of our times. Failing such a dramatic demonstration, I would not expect the changes that must be made to have the political capital or momentum needed to come about. The sand in the hour glass of the United States is running out. We can turn the country around or watch it disintegrate. There really aren't many options. Continuing on the same course is financial ruin and disintegration under chaotic and hysterical conditions. There are only two ways for organized turn around. Scare the Republicans by turning the House and Senate over to Democrats through conservatives voting for conservative third parties or if not available any other conservative candidate, hopefully awakening the Republican Pary to what it has to do if it is to remain a politically viable party. Failing this, a Constitutional Convention would have a chance. But in the final analysis, I think that secession of a single state will result in a stampede of secessions. From this, we should see a group of regional republics competeing with one another for citizens interested in freedom and free enterprise. The socialistic centers will learn a sharp quick lesson in politics and economics. Most of us haven't realized that the United States where we thought we lived and wanted to live again disappeared at least thirty years ago. There may not be any possibility of recapturing it again. And the need may have ended when the Soviet Union collapsed.

Get Liddy elected, THEN we'll hold her tootsies to the Fire.

Right. Like how we got Dubya to live up to his word and veto Campaign Finance Reform, the Kennedy Education bill, tighten Immigration controls, and how we will get him to veto the 1994 assault weapon ban when it is back up for confirmation.

Like that. That sort of 'holding his feet to the fire'.

I posted this as part of my reply to Fred Mertz ----

"The Whole Key to effecting Change in D.C. is to get Repubs elected. When WE TALK, THEY Listen! That's the way it is. That and Name Recognition. That's the way it is. Yeah, get more Repubs in, with name recognition, hold their tootsies to the fire, talk to them, and DON'T criticize them! We're at WAR!

O.K., I've gotta go throw up my breakfast, but I hope you've got The Big Picture now."

I think Fred got it. But there are some reading here that haven't. So I Bolded it this time. ;-)

Yeah, but she's a Big Pro-Gunner now

...next month, who knows? I don't trust anyone who waffles on such important issues.

You can count on her to flip again as soon as the next fickle swing of public opinion indicates perceived gun-grabbing sentiments are on the rise.

When they're as Dirty as our "elected" leaders, they've GOT to keep it, as they say, "In The Family".

Feld....

OK..Lets assume Bush and Dole are not "socialist". That seems a fair premise. There are two other categories often subscribed to republicans. Moderates and rightwingers, which of those two would you place Bush and Dole?

You have to keep in mind now the democrats have only democrats.

I agree that Mrs. Dole is a Carpetbagger. However, it looks to me the real issue is whether the nation would be served better by a person with top name recognition running for the Senate seat in North Carolina. My response is to give a nod to Mrs. Dole even though I am offended by these tactics.

Dole is a carpetbagger, regardless of how you slice it. She has been stuffed down our throats by Bush and the professional politicians inside the beltway. I for one will not vote for her.

I wish that were the only thing she was

Political hack at the Dept of Trans

Overpaid overhead drone at the Red Cross

Poster Girl for RINOS.

Yeah, but she's a Big Pro-Gunner now. She changed her position papers and pamphlets and everything.

Which makes it easier to believe she could change it right back again at a later, more conveneient, date.

We in the United States are sheeple. We are scared of anything that is unknown. Our founders had spines when it came to what they believed. Why should we follow those that have millions and millions of dollars? Does a socialist government have a right to force its people to vote for its party? When does ones vote not get bought?

How come when these sorta ideas are brought up they are bashed? Is it because we dont want to change and better our lives? How did you feel in 1999 Nov-Dec? Would you have went to Fl and made your voice heard?

Remember in Nov-Dec 1999 Bush said something like at least we did not have tanks down thier? Could I dare say this have become a dictaorship? With votes bought by the controlling parties? I wish I had answers but who does?
