I was just reading a great thread on tyranny and whether we as a nation had crossed the line. The arguments being made were thoughtful and incisive. When I went to add my thoughts I was told the whole thread had been pulled and I want to know why. I support this forum financially because it is an open forum for the exchange of ideas. I can understand something obscene or personal attacks being yanked, but not a thread of this nature. This deletion smacks of the tyranny the thread was talking about. I refuse to spend my money to support a forum that censors political speech. I would like an answer from those running this website.

What I usually see is the Moderator locking the thread as a duplicate with a link to the original when this occurs. It does save a lot of questions and hurt feelings when they do it that way.

I believe I have the correct approach. When my perfectly valid thread, Why Do Dogs Cheat on their Masters? was deleted by the jack-booted thugs, I tripled my contributions to FR, which were already hefty.

A Certain Issue Needs to be Addressed (Admin Moderator)

This is an issue that is becoming more and more of a concern to FReepers. Many FReepers have received suspensions, and some more unlucky ones have been banned permanently. The common complaint is that there is no reason given by the Admin Moderator, and no explanation is ever received.

There seems to be a certain AM that is a bit trigger happy and refuses to give cause of his/her actions to anyone, leaving the issue unsolved.

If the purpose of Suspension is rehabilitation, then I believe it would be helpful to receive an explanation as to what exactly was done wrong.

This is basically a petition thread for FReepers that are fed up with some of the actions of the Admin Moderator. Please ping over anyone you know that has received punishment and was not informed why, and please let it be known if you think the Admin Moderator position needs to be re-thought.

This thread was the idea of several FReepers that share these feelings, so if you guys don't get on here and make your feelings known, I will become angry........ :-)

Yep, I've managed to survive Libertarian battles and Southron threads that get slimed as racist with nary a scratch. LOL, I'll probably get canned soon. I do think an explanantion would be appropriate particularly in light of permanent banning....but it's not my forum. I have noticed that certain FReepers seem to have a less degree of separation from the bosses than I do. I don't know...managing ...what 80k loudmouths like you and me can be tiresome I would think.
