USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

Thank you Tonkin, these are beautiful flowers . I wish we could give them to every single nurse that has been in every one of our wars. I had 4 Aunts that were nurses in various wars.

Thanks so much for the scripture ideas. I feel helpless to do anything for him. Sigh.. Ecclesiastes is the best. Everything in life but serving the Lord is vain, isn't it? Sassy, that scripture in Philipians is one of my favorites.
My DD is better. I got her some medicene today. I think I have the flu though. Not sure what's wrong with me. My muscles and bones ache like I have 103, but I have 97.4 temp. LOL All I want to do is sleep, sleep, and sleep some more. Oh well.....I need to rest I guess.
To: LadyX
Thank you LadyX. My grandmother was the daughter of a share cropper (sp?). They lived in a dirt floor, two room shack, and yes, she did walk 5 miles to school in the snow. LOL Whining about duty and unladylike behavior was not tolerated. Plus I was taught the Christian principle of "servanthood". Serve others and do it cheerfully. Even if you don't feel like it, the good feelings come later. I come from a good family, and married into a good one too. The Lord has blessed me.

..and he is the least handicapped man I have ever met. ..What a great tribute to him, saying that, ohioWfan. What more complimentary words are there?

Maybe you are homesick for your husband. I know that you can get physically ill when you miss your family. Although, I think the flu is going around too. Love ya kid, hang in there. I'm glad your daughter is doing better. Call if you need me... :)

Thanks for the ping :') Since today is Tribute to Medic day...
First, a tribute to all Armed Forces Medics.
Second, I'd like to pay tribute to U.S. Army medic Pvt.Kermit Dale Kuhn, KIA in Northern Germany and buried in Margratten, Holland. Feb. 27,1945.
He died while giving aid to a wounded soldier.
I have his medic kit, flag, wallet, and flag. They are my most prized possesions, without a doubt.
I consider it a great honor to be named after him, and to be his grandson.
To: Dakmar
Hi Dakmar, thanks for sharing about your Grandpa. The B-17 was really some plane. I got to see one once in person and got inside of it.
I am so glad to see you , thanks again for telling me about your Grandpa. All ourf veterans are honored and thanked here at the FReeper USO Canteen so it is really neat to hear about them.
