USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

"even if they did try to get us with the "square needle" bit"
You mean there were actually regular needles they could have used? LOL

I can top THAT one!
When I was in training, they took *special pains* to test the women's ability to withstand
The Jabs, enjoying the two-arm attacks with gusto.
I took it without flinching and smiled at 'em..:)))

1st of all Welcome to the USO Canteen!
Anything that has to do with the military, and support for it IS always welcome here.
Rest assured I'll be sending an e-mail to voice my opinion.

There are undoubtedly far better ways that this old maid solution.
I keep an draft email for that purpose, titled 'Ping List'. I add to it all day long then close it at night and it saves. The reason I did it this way is because my email program automatically saves a draft in the event of a shut down or unintentional close.
Then I just copy/paste from that horizontal list.
I, like you, would like to know how others do it, without making a document.

I am having trouble with a 'dying mouse' and I may not be posting much until I am able to get a new one.I'm sorry about your mouse. It's always traumatic to lose a pet. Hopefully you'll get over it and soon be posting again.

Thanks. I come around and lurk. I didn't serve in the military but my dad was in both I and II. Went to college on the war orphans plan. I am really steamed about this idiocy. It is an insult, and by these folks who would be the first to duck behind a service person if there was danger.

LOL!
I've got a Canteen Bump List, a Marine Bump List, an EnviroNut Bump List and a Master Bump List!
A lot of the same people are on each list, but I add different people to each one according to their interest.
I make a Word document for each one.
When I'm on the forum, I have Word minimized so that I can copy and paste whichever bump list I want.

You don't buy that dying mouse story either? It's right there with "my dog ate the homework."

"You must know that the Corpsmen hated you!" Oh, yes - their expressions were priceless.
All the more gratifying because there were literally streams of blood running down each arm!
When I was Right Guide for my platoon of 73, the game on base for every man was to make
'that WM out front' smile or laugh or lose her stride and be a disgrace to the Corps -
heckling, catcalls, whistles from up close and either side - to which I was absolutely impervious.
Should have won an Oscar for my performances!
