V, The only possible way members of the EU, and Japan can produce steel cheaper than the U.S. of A. is if the countries subsidize the energy costs of the manufacturers. The energy to produce steel {gas and oil} is MUCH cheaper in the U.S. of A. than in the EU, or Japan. Though, I understand we are seling Alaskan oil to Japan at reduces rates. Or, were anyway.
