President Bush and First Lady Laura are on their way to Latin America for a four-day trip with visits to Mexico, Peru and El Salvador. In a stop-over in El Paso, TX, Bush spoke to a crowd about increasing security at our nation's borders. He also visited a local customs inspection area. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

It is a concern for all the people who live in states where their Senators voted for the bill. You can find out at senate.gov.
They swore to "uphold, protect, and defend the Constitution". If they didn't, they then should be out on their behinds.
On a different note, the pictures are great. I think Laura has lost more weight. She's so pretty.

Indeed, we are talking about large interest, whose views we already are fully aware of, they know what a politicians stance is before 60 days, and so do we. Ill agree with the NRA's stance but it is common knowledge, as a voter I dont need to be told who is a gun grabber, i can figure that out on my own, as can people who care about the issue. But I dont need to see James Byrds family pimping his death with Jessie and pals.

where were you when the house and the senate voted for CFR? Bush said from the very beginning that if a bill made it to his desk he would sign and therefore warned all not to wait on him for a veto. I don't think he lied. As far as the campaign--I believe it was changed a bit (the original McCain/Feingold) to what it is now so I don't see how he is lying.

Well, I have lost faith in the wisdom of some on this forum. But I digress.
I wonder what will happen in Monterrey? Methinks there is something in the works. I hope its a deal on natural gas, which would be a big coup.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt over the amnesty bill. If he signs CFR I'm finished with him.Go for it. How stupid to let this issue affect you this way. Don't you understand, this is just congress trying to look like they are trying to fix a problem caused by all those Enron donations so they can win this fall.
The last time they did something this stupid was when they created Political Action Committees after the Nixon problem. Of course those turned out to be a disaster. But interestingly the world did not fall apart.
This is a big yawn, and to be finished with anyone over something this lame really makes me want to laugh.

Amazing, isn't it? One year ago, we were all basking in the afterglow. Now we're bashing the status quo. Who needs liberals when we have our own version divide and conquer.

Very well-said, ladyinred.

Go to another thread and bash away with the other one issue wonders and fence sitters. But what happens when ALL those one issue-ers get on the same thread and all their issues are different? ;-)

I do not think the people who write all those Bush-bashing vanities would appreciate us showing up and filling their threads with pictures, do you? I seriously thought about doing that yesterday, but so far the discussion is not unbearable, except for the micturition remark at the beginning.

Get over it! You are punishing ALL of us with your constant complaining. Take it to Freepmail and leave the rest of us alone!
To: smith288
According to several here, the President said all along he would sign it. So if that is so, how is he now lying?

for people who live in states where their Senators voted for the bill. Unfortunately, that would be mine! Cantwell and Murray. Actually, that's what I said on the White House comment line. That I was so disappointed and disillusioned that President Bush is siding with my liberal Senators and not my Republican Congressman who voted against CFR.
Oh well. I apologize for my Senators. They are morons.

I pray the President returns safely from his trip. Bump.

I heard that he went on some trip last year and he cut it short because he missed her.I think that's true. He says she "grounds him". I think that all of this political hoo-ha doesn't matter to him when she's around. He makes good decisions, and she re-inforces him. He can ignore all of this chatter because he has her support. And she's quite an intelligent lady herself- driven by what's right, not by politics.
I think both of them want to do what's right during his term in office, and if that sends them back to their Texas ranch in 2004, they will both be serene about what they accomplished.

We like to feed on our own and thus always stay in the minority. Who needs elections, republicans will take care of our own when the Buchanan defeatists kill off all who dont agree on every issue. Listen, the President is not your own little pocket leader to fullfill your every will, he is the President Of the United States, therefore he cant please our every whim, we can only hope to have someone in office we respect and agree witht the majority of the time. If you expect an exact agrrement youll always be unhappy, but I guess some like it that way.
To: Wphile
What state is that?
To: rintense
Who needs liberals when we have our own version divide and conquer. That's exactly what I'm afraid of, rin. And their discussion goes on... and on....ad nauseum.
Where was President Bush today, and what were we discussing, 235 posts ago?
To: cactmh
Well, there you go again, pottymouth... No ideas, just insults and temper tantrums. I didn't threaten you, I said I worry about and those like you on the little yellow bus. The big boys don't like name callers.
To: olliemb
If there is one thing President Bush HAS been consistent with, it is to expect the unexpected (within the bounds of the low expectations given to him by many freepers). For example:
Kyoto Treaty- Kicked to the curb
Stem Cell- no new stem cell research
Tax Cuts- you got em'!
Shall I go on? Every single time someone has claimed to have this man pegged, they have been wrong. Some need to give the President a hell of a lot more consideration- especially when he has proven he can accomplish his goals by even out-thinking some of the most astute pundits- including some of those here on fr.com.
