President Bush and First Lady Laura are on their way to Latin America for a four-day trip with visits to Mexico, Peru and El Salvador. In a stop-over in El Paso, TX, Bush spoke to a crowd about increasing security at our nation's borders. He also visited a local customs inspection area. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

What IF it's constitutional? Whether WE like it or not?

Do you really think Bush will get a fair break if he vetoes it from a press corps that already believes he STOLE the 2000 election and isn't the legitimate president, not to mention what the Dems would say?

As I said before today, a conservative without an office is NO GOOD to me.

I care about it, too. And he said in his remarks that he believes that there are PARTS of it whose constitutionality is questionable.

Let the United States Supreme Court tell JOHN McCAIN that he wrote, supported, and passed an unconstitutional bill. And then tell him to shut up about it!

Senator McConnell already said he is going to take this to the USSC and I would imagine Bush will either wait until the USSC has weighed in before he signs it, But who knows, either way I'm not going to call Harry Browne or Terry McAuliffe for a registration form over this before we know how it works out. All this hand wringing is pathetic

I would rather take a bath in my waste than get a Democratic registration card.

It is obvious how much in love they still are!!!

Well, you definitely saw it the way it happened judgie!

I don't think I'm ever going to get tired of seeing the two of them together! They ooze the love they have for each other out of every pore, and it is so refreshing!! What an example they are to a world in need of positive role models, for a committed marriage relationship, that's still a whole lot of fun! Makes me happy, just thinking about it!

"You "see" what Limbaugh, Liddy and Savage tell you to see. And either way this bill will mean nothing to this country period."

Well, I've never heard Liddy and Savage is for CFR...Apparently you don't listen much.

"Don't say the 60 day ban because thats only soft money. W's campaign money came from %65 of $2000 donations from us! HARD MONEY!!!! All this sophistry over the Constitution is drivel spit from those who just want to beat the bill, it is not based on fact. Good luck campaigning for Gore!

Campaigning for Gore? I guess the 38 Republican Senators are campaigning for Gore too? I don't care where President Bush got his money last election. It's not about one election or one party. It's about the Congress making laws that infringe on our Constitutional rights.

Are you for laws that limit the number of firearms purchased every month, mandatory gun locks and other "common sense" laws regarding the Second Amendment? I mean, it's not like these laws really do anything to the Second Amendment. If you don't have an intelligent answer, don't answer at all please.

Something else that is neat is that Laura did not even jump or look surprised when he touched her like that. It is just so natural and normal for them that they don't think twice about it. Don't you just love them!!!!!!!

LOL, me either, for that matter I would rather have the party's reduced to riding aroung in a van with a loud speaker on the roof shouting out their campaign promises before I would fill out a RAT registration form.

(does anyone remember the days of candidates driving real slow through the neighborhoods using a loud speaker?)

Okay, you've made your point(s). I am surprised that somebody as astute as you can fail to see that you and your comments are unwelcome here. There must be at least twenty threads devoted to CFR right now. Perhaps you will find someone to debate over there. In case you still don't get it, TAKE A HIKE!

Sheesh...I'm against CFR and disappointed too but good Lord, this is getting nauseating. Enough already. We fought a fight and we lost. Time to move on to the next battle.

I tried to defend the Dose on another thread this afternoon and the idiot wrote back and called me 'toots.' Now, that got my goat!

Picture # 3 of post # 9 is incredible. He is a beauty for sure. And doesn't he look years younger all of the sudden? Especially the pics in Mexico. The great thing about foreign trips is we get extra pictures!

THAT'S EXACTLY MY POINT! Bush is going to wait until the court rules while he sits on the bill. I think he is playing it very smart here. On one hand he tells the RATS in lalaland that he is going to sign the bill, while all along he is hinting to his conservative base that SOME parts are unconstitutional! In other words I have it all under control(VETO)! Brilliant strategy! THINK ABOUT!! :)

There are always extremists on the fringes who want to dominate and control. You can usually recognize them when they don't get their way on something -- they throw a fit and talk about revenge and all kinds of ugly things.

It kind of boggles my mind to see people here, at Free Republic, whining about CFR, when it apparently is perfectly ok with them to curtail speech here. Try and criticize a fringe republican who is so arrogant and self-righteous that he is harming the GOP and see what happens.

Quite a double standard, imo

I lose respect for anyone who lies.

Smith, he always said he might sign a CFR bill. Gore would have signed CFR last summer in worse shape than it's in now. And we'd probably still be negotiating with the Taliban to close the al-Qaeda training camps.

SunStar or cactmh, give me an exact quote in total context, please. We had a very close election. For all I know, Bush promised McCain he'd sign his bill if he altered a few things, and McCain campaigned for Bush in return, and that made the difference in the election. Although, like Smith, I am still holding a glimmer of hope that he'll just let it become law without his signature rather than signing it.

Now don't go saying the First Amendment isn't negotiable...I know that. I just hope SCOTUS still knows that when this bill gets to them, and if it doesn't then we will have to hit the streets at that time. But what may well happen is that the unconstitutional parts go down in flames and the donation contribution limits go up and stay in, like we want.

Does anybody have any doubt that ever single Congressman and Senator is important now? RINO's included? I hope those who value the Constitution know they have to go all out supporting Republicans in the upcoming elections. We will never get another conservative on the Supreme Court if we don't get control of the Senate back. That's what the Pickering lynching means.

FR has lately become such a vile vortex of hatred and name calling, that I am at a loss as to what to think.

Well rintense, I hate to say it but Tim McVeigh was all of those things and far right too. It's those of us in the right mainstream that see the forest through the trees.

I trust W, he has a good heart and he has led us faithfully on the right course so far. I believe he knows what he is doing. There is a good reason for the 80% approval ratings. After the shameful 8 years of Clinton, W is a blessing from GOD!

Who are you to tell me to take a hike? Why don't you take a hike?

We fought the good fight, oh well....next. No wonder we've been losing the country for the last 50 years...
