Perhaps he should read history 101:
The Renaissance
Establishment of the United States and a Constitutional Republic
The Civil War, end of slavery
Womens Suffrage
WWII, end of Fascism, Marshall Plan, reconstruction of Germany and Japan
Civil Rights Act in the 60s
Freedom of Kuwait
Democratic form of government
Secular government, freedom of religion
I am curious about the Islamic tradition of non-violent improvement to their culture as well as how they have helped others to reconstruct and reorient their cultures. I guess I did not see that in the article, probably an oversight.

Good list. You left off "free education and the opportunity for literacy for all, regardless of class, religion, or political standing." But, of course, his culture offers that, doesnt it? Especially to the poor and to women.

I went to IMAX to seen the Shattleton Antarctic exploration. Please enlighten us to the world of Arab Exploration, or for that matter, any great discoveries from Non-Western civilizations

I was trying to get my brain to think up your post, when I saw that your brain had been quicker. Yes. Exactly. Tell the starving Germans and Japanese still huddling in the wreckage of WWII about our inadequacies at reconstruction. Point to this great example of how the cowboy Americans just stir up hate on all sides.
Hate to mention it, Abdel, but the last two countries on which we really thoroughly exercised our "mastery of destruction" are helping us fight you this time around. Germans have died doing so, and the Japanese are stretching the limits of their post-war anti-militarism to help, a very big deal for them.
