Univision will air a show tonight called "The American Dream - Tested"
Bothersome indeed, lets remember that these people are only criminals in the sense that theyve broken a law.
" technically it is possible to define the undocumented as criminals."
Bravo to you Tom Ridge! Why should we expect you to uphold the laws of our country and secure our borders? No, not when political correctness states that we should not criticize the dusky hued.
I cant help but see two problems here with a mutual solution: We have several million jobs for unskilled workers that must be filled, we also have several million people whos careers consist of watching 18 hours a day of television, having children by the bushel-full, and collecting welfare. The only obstacles to placing the career welfare recipients in a job cleaning grease-traps at a taco stand or picking tomatoes in a field is that theyre lazy and need to be relocated.
Cut off the welfare and those two obstacles will take care of themselves.

Guns Before Butter.
They are not "undocumented immigrants". They are illegal aliens. All of them are criminals by definition. Jorge Ramos ought to be deported.
The arrogance of this Mexican cabal like fox and castenada is superseded only by the cowardice of Bush, Congress and the INS.
Isnt that odd because in a similar situation Mexico considers people like this criminals as well. Central americans come to Mexico from its southern border and Mexico is trying to stop its own flow of 'undocumented immigrants.'
I don't give a flying flip how "good workers" they are--ILLEGAL ALIENS are CRIMINALS--stealing directly from American citizens and LEGAL immigrants by taking away jobs, and indirectly by sucking up tax money to provide "welfare" goods and services (such as hospital emergency care).
But they are such nice, hard-working counterfeiters. As long as they mean well, should counterfeiting really be considered a crime?
Of course, there is nothing self-serving about that statement.
It is meant to convey the notion that all these ignorant immigrants are doing us a favor.
Of course, rational people appreciate favors.
In this case however, in order to make things crystal clear, let me respond by saying...
The thought is appreciated, and surely we know that you are doing it for our benefitn but.
WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' FAVORS!
For expressing his free speech?
You're worse than I thought.
Tancredo suffers from your lack of credible support.
Tired & Poor: The Bankrupt Arguments for Mass, Unskilled Immigration by Steven A. Camarota, National Review, September 3, 2001 which has the following interesting statistic:
"We at the Center for Immigration Studies estimate that the average Mexican immigrant will use $55,200 more in public services during his lifetime than he pays in taxes."
OR the following study:
The Impact of New Americans: A Review and Analysis of the National Research Council's The New Americans: Economic, Demographic, and Fiscal Effects of Immigrationby Steven A. Camarota and Leon Bouvier Center for Immigration Studies Report, December1999, which has, among others, the following interesting facts:
"In California and New Jersey, the average immigrant-headed household currently uses $3,463 and $1,484 more, respectively, in services provided by state and local government than it pays in taxes. This translates into an added tax burden of $1,178 imposed on each native household in California and $232 in New Jersey (Table 3 on page 7)" AND
"Immigration was responsible for 44 percent of the decline in relative wages (com- pared to other workers) for high school dropouts from 1980 to 1994."
OR the following study:
Immigration from Mexico - Study Examines Costs and Benefits for the United States which notes the following:
"....reduction in wages for the unskilled has likely reduced prices for consumers by only an estimated .08 to .2 percent in the 1990s. The impact is so small because unskilled labor accounts for only a tiny fraction of total economic output."
Ramos goes on the talk show circuit and puts out all his disinformation without any challenges. I am really tired of all his claims. Give me back my tax money that goes to illegals & I'll pay the extra nickle for my carrots.
