What is more apparent than ever is that we are now, and forever, in the era of the perpetual campaign..as soon as the votes are counted this Novemeber, we start thinking about 2004.....but it seems eveident to me that if the GOP retakes the Sdenate this fall, then the Dems are aonly looign forward to losing more seats two years hence..this could well be their high water mark.....and a lot of the senior Dem senators will not want to go back to the minority for the next four years, especially with all the presure upcoming from the many expected Supreme Court nominations....retire, make the big bucks as a lobbyist, take it easy....

Trent Lott has got to go. And Sen Nickles, while a good man, does not possess the verbal and media skills necessary to be an effective public spokesman. It's time for Bill Frist, as soon as possible..
