Steinem received a “Chester Bowles Student Fellowship” to study in India. Curiously, an Internet search reveals that this fellowship has no existence apart from Gloria Steinem. No one else has received it.

Reminds one of gov clinton's student assocation that paid for his trip to Russia, no else ever got a grant from it either and it still remains unnamed.

I am in favor of drafting the feminists and sending them to nuetralize the Middle East. They are one terrorist force that has just as much fanaticism as the Al Qaeda. Burning burkas and bras would strike terror in the most stalwart camel jockey. The CIA has a secret weapon that would (could) wrap up the war on terror immediately.

"MS Magazine, which she edited for many years was indirectly funded by the CIA."

Proof please?

"Our main misconception about the CIA is that it serves US interests."

Oh brother! Or should I say "Oh Big Brother".

"In another example of the CIA´s use of drugs to interfere in domestic politics, Gary Webb describes how in the 1980´s, the CIA flooded Black ghettos with cocaine."

What a crock!

I once tried to meet David Rockefeller, but he was too busy to see me (my excuse was to thank him for a scholarship I was given by the Chase Manhattan Bank.) Did I miss a chance to see Geronimo's brain?

No mention of David Rockefeller at the end of the great movie Geronimo.

More conspiracy theory rantings. Any one who posts this kind of unsourced nonsense should be booted out of normal society and gotten themselves banned from FR permanently. Gloria Steinem & the CIA! Gosh, the NOW NAGS were a vast government conspiracy, the truth is out there, and the X-Files really do exist. Stuff like this doesn't enhance the credibility of conservatives and this is to America as Barry Chamish is to Israel.

It's a very easy way to discredit the opposition also, what can be easier than claimimg your detractors are "all hopped up on goofballs", just another way to divide and conquer.

"... This is a very interesting subject, and I've seen some bits and pieces of this before. I think that there is a lot of truth here, but rather than an underlying "conspiracy" to create a "feminist" movement, I think it was more of a move to take control of an already existing movement and steer it in directions which would not threaten the CFR, "banking and oil elite," et.al. I think the plan was to make sure that feminism did not go in directions, which would challenge the ruling elite...."

Who in the world are you? I have never seen anyone who can hit the bullseye so unfailingly!

Thanks for your reasoned remarks about the uses and abuses of the word conspiracy. The word serves the same purpose for the ruling Elite as fascist or communistonce did. It shuts down all conversation because, being good, polite, well-bahaved and, above all, obedient little cooperators, we wouldn't want to be associated with those kinds of peoplein the minds of Our Betters.

In any case the evidence is overwhelming that American feminists are whores for multinational corporations. The attraction of plague-bearing rats to other plague-bearing rats is not necessarily a conspiracy. Then again it might be. Maybe biology is just one big conspiracy....

It's 2002.

Other than me and possibly you, in this day and age who isn't a whore for multinational corporations?

Whatever one thinks about conspiracies between feminism and the NWO/world financialist crowd, the fact of the matter is that the feminist movement fit in hand and glove with the change in economic realities starting in the 1970s. Starting around then, it became necessary in most cases for both partners in a marriage to work full-time in order to support a family, or even to be able to afford to live in a decent home. Before that time, a man could be a family's "sole breadwinner". Single parents, and other non-partnered people, are at a great disadvatage, and the feminist movement (among other social changes of the 1970s) resulted in more and more of them.

The other AWFUL thing that happened in the late 1970s was the "Roots" phenomenon--both Alex Haley's book and the television miniseries based on it. (There was just a 25th anniversary TV program "celebrating" "Roots"). "Roots" was about the puroported family history of an African-American family, but its effects went WAY beyond black people. Starting with "Roots", there became more and more emphasis on ALL Americans "finding and identifying with their roots", and considering themelves some kind of hyphenated American, even if their ancestors came here in 1850 or so and they are totally mixed in terms of "national origin". This was all at the expense of a sense of American nationality, unity, and culture, which every generation needs to create anew for itself!!!!

Then came the DELUGE--"diversity", "multiculturalism", and UNLIMITED IMMIGRATION--mostly from Third World countries!!! (Besides that, all to many of the new immigrants are muslim, and we are being conditioned by the media, politicans, etc.to accept a more and more islamic America!!!) This is all tending to destroy ANY SENSE of an American culture or nationality, and to set us up PERFECTLY for the beyond-the-nation-state New World Order, run by the world's financial manipulators, of course!!!!

The great irony is that "Roots" was a COMPLETE FRAUD--plagiarized by Alex Haley from two earlier authors, one of whom was white!!! THE WHOLE DAMN ""ROOTS"/DIVERSITY" MOVEMENT IS BASED ON A BIG, BIG LIE!!!!

Do you have any info on connections bewteen the CIA and Alex Haley and his fraudulent successors?
