The Buzz: Editorial meeting unplugs Davis' restraint

Something about newspaper editorial board meetings makes the governor go gonzo.
In the latest edition of Gray Davis Unplugged (and Unglued), the normally restrained governor told the San Diego Union-Tribune that he "saved this friggin' paper" and that last year's energy fight was "worse than being in Vietnam."
Recall that in another editorial board meeting, with the San Francisco Chronicle in 1999, Davis declared it was the job of lawmakers to "implement my vision." That peeved legislators who had visions of their own.
But his latest comments were some of his most interesting yet.
"I kept the lights on," Davis said. "And this sounds a little presumptuous, but I think I should at least get a round of applause. I don't get squat."
He also was testy when questioned about criticism that he panicked and paid too much for power in long-term state agreements for electricity.
"If I didn't panic, you wouldn't be able to put out your paper," he said. "I saved this friggin' paper. I kept the lights on in this state, do you understand that?"
A Vietnam veteran, Davis also made a controversial comparison when describing the energy crisis: "This is like a war. This is worse than being in Vietnam. This is a full-out war against me."
Later, Davis talked about his role as global dominator. "When I took the oath of office, we were the seventh-largest economy on the planet," he said. "We passed Italy the first year, France my second year, and we will pass the U.K. in two years."
Watsamatta, you? Duz yer keybard need a boxa Depends? (smirk)
Yew got sumthin against our delusional dorky Gubernormeister? Jus cuz he pees an parts the wadders an then thinks he can walk on both sides uv the revenue streams at the same time?
Mebbe we kin dam up his revenue since we're havin trubul stoppin his credit abuse.
...GRAY DAVS opened up a Bank Account in the China Army-Backed LIPPO BANK right after JAMES RIADY gave BIG BUCKS to the Democrat National Committee. This is per RIADY's own testimony at his Federal Court ChinaGate Sentencing Hearing in Los Angeles.
...I know. I was there to hear it said.
Was that on the way up...or down? What's next Sierra Leone?
There have been some classic Freeper Posts across the board today and incredible pictures of the Rats in Action!
So this morning before I go read something new and different, I'm making sure that I have zero coffee in mouth.
Good! That cuts down on the droolin, while grinnin!!! (he said with a grin, as he wiped off his chin)
