..You could buy a new Chevy Coupe for $600 but who could afford one? Too bad, because gas was 11 cents a gallon. ..Thanks for the memories. You know...I remember driving into a gas station with a near-empty tank and saying, "Stop at $2.00, if it will take that much..."
And it seldom did take all that $2.00.
Evening Who - I can remember driving into a full-service (but they were all full-service back in the day) gas station, and ordering up a quarter, or half-dollar's worth of fuel. No problem, no funny looks - and still getting the under the hood service, the tire pressures checked, and the windshield cleaned!
