Did anyone catch the two-fold interview on the TODAY Show with Katie Couric?
What a joke! And where was Andrea Yates' representation? No family members from her side! I smell a division brewing in that family.
Just like on Friday during the separate news conferences, hasn't anyone noticed this? Your thoughts and comments.

There always are nutty, pathetic, desperate women who will latch onto an infamous guy, no matter how worthless he may be - just look at all the women who marry incarcerated murderers, e.g., Bundy. Rusty can't go without having his sexual and other "needs" met, and you can bet that a guy who never even bothered to help change his children's diapers needs a wife to serve as housekeeper, cook, concubine.

Oh I totally agree with you, Fitz! But I blame her husband who supposidly was still sharing a bed, like most husbands and wives do, surely he saw her decline in physical appearance--I mean forgodsakes, she stopped bathing and washing her long hair, the signs were there!

Excuse me, but Andrea's father died of Alzheimer's and her mother thought nothing of Andrea coming over to take care of the man during his illness. If she was so concerned about Andrea being overburdened with her children she would NEVER have asked her to come help with an Alzheimer's patient.
These people are all about as selfish as can be and the truth is that Andrea never learned to JUST SAY NO!

Thanks, I'll check into it!

Well ya know, even Jeffrey Dahmer had his groupies. I will have NO SYMPATHY for the next person that gets mixed up with that nut given all we now know.

If Rusty has a girlfriend, she's have to be insane to be dating him. Who would have to be more insane? Rusty's new girlfriend, or the Nichole look-alike hanging out with OJ?

Wow! Very interesting indeed, about his hardcore attitude, not this loving, nuturing, understanding hubby he tries to portray! I have to find those interview transcripts.

Yates was quoted in the Houston paper yesterday, saying "my wife was dangerously psychotic, a threat to everyone around her. That's why she should not have even been brought to trial for the murders of our children."
Huh?

As Andrea's mother said, he tells everyone else what to do, but he doesn't like anyone telling him what to do. He owned her like a piece of luggage (oh yes the mother mentioned him believing women were inferior and should be subserviate), and there is no way that family could get her out of there (especially since she was crazy enough not to complain and stay with him).

Yes, you're right about the dad's illness, my mistake and apologies.

"And where was Andrea Yates' representation?"This is a PR move by Russel's lawyers, in preparation for the huge lawsuit he is about to file.
Andrea will come back into the picture at the testimony level, and the kids will too at some point...ONLY in order to strengthen the Russel's manufactured image as an 'innocent' victim. Practically a martyr, even.
I know I sound cold blooded, but this is the pattern that Russel, his lawyers, and even his side of the family seem to be forming right now.
This doesn't sound like it's about murdered children. It sounds like it's about money.

Not at all! Actually quite brilliant for your post. How right you are about the seemingly motivation on the Yates' family part!

"Blame her husband".
I was thinking about cases where a dangerous DOG gets loose, goes out and mauls a child to death. What usually transpires? The dog ends up being "put to death" (or the big sleep), and the owner of that dog goes to trial for being the responsible party in the victim's death.
I think of Andrea as being the "mad dog" and Rusty being the "owner". It's about the only way to eventually resolve of all of this, strange as it sounds.

Some interesting thoughts and I thank you for the post!
My take, Rusty is one horny dog who's out for the big bucks now and Hollywood should be on the lookout!

Isn't it interesting that the stations did this "dueling families" thing on the same day?.....
To: FITZ
Seems that everyone allowed Andrea to 'do' for them. Threaded through the comments from her family are all the things she found the time to do for other family members.
That said, the bottom line is that she and only she committed those horrendous murders and I find it interesting that so many freepers want to blame the 'village'.

Rusty Yates, in my opinion, looks like a doofus. If my husband had just killed our children, I don't think I'd get out from under the covers for about a month, and then I doubt I'd be able to talk about them without sobbing uncontrollably. He's just strange, and he ain't good looking to me at all !!

Very interesting and does no service to the American t.v. watching public! I hate this battle that rages between all of them!
