But one prominent environmental group calls the bill "silly and unnecessary."Well, that's about all I need to know to support it!

Good reading.

End land grabs by the Federal Government? H@!!, they need to divest themselves of half the land they already have! Have you ever looked closely at a map of the West, that shows all the land owned by the Feral Goobermint? It is totally ridiculous.

"This is not serious legislation," Waltman said. "In fact, it is about the most anti private property rights piece of legislation I have seen in a while."To suggest an individual land owner can't sell his land to the federal government without jumping through all these hoops, which is what this legislation would appear to do, infringes upon somebody's most fundamental property right, which is to sell their land to any entity that the person so chooses," Waltman said.
LOL! He's clever, I'll give him that much... but I think he knows this bill is pretty clever too.

Surely they do make an exception of Washington DC. If not they are painting themselves into a corner there.

How about a bill preventing county governments from condeming the land of one taxpayer so that a rich developer can build a mall or office building or some other PRIVATE ENTERPRISE.
To: kattracks
The Feds own 1/3 of our country....so far.
Eventually, they'll find a "reason" to own it all.
The Right to Property? "silly and unnecessary."

I am presently in negotiations with one of the above mentioned federal agencies. They have been the most dishonest and underhanded people I have ever dealt with. I suggest that anyone dealing with these agencies (and probably any government agency) conduct their business with the presumption they are dealing with crooks.

Thanks for the ping!
This bill will probably pass the house.
Then, Mullah Shorty Da$$hole will bottle it up in the senate just like the drilling in ANWR bill/energy bill.
Then he will have the backing of the other enviralist senators from the West Coast, the Mountain region and then east to the Atlantic.
If we knew how much money was laundered by the various enviral groups to reelect their enviral senators, we would be amazed. The these enviral groups ordered their cult members to vote in mass for these enviral hand puppet senators to keep them in office!
Nothing will be done unless we elect enough senators this fall to replace Da$$hole as majority leader with a real republican.

Oregon has the highest umemployment in the Nation. The democrat governor is cutting the budget!! But still, the politicians in Salem scratch their heads and wonder why.
The only land they can log now is private, I saw a load on a truck the other day and they were toothpicks. Meanwhile on the Fed and State lands, the trees are so old they are rotting and soon they will be burning.

The least they could do is provide a Bill #. Now I have to go a research and find it on my own. That requires work. Or a least more typing.

It will be a start of an "Expose" by the lamestream media and we can have a "no limit" hunting season on them!!!/dream>
