Who can forget National Health Care, a program that would have made the federal government the overseer of 14 percent of our gross domestic product?

Its fatal flaw was that it cost a fortune and people didn't believe it would improve health care. Many pundits say it resulted in the tumultuous election of 1994, when both houses of Congress changed hands.

The government already is 20% of our GDP the much maligned big corporations are less than 10%.

We go through cycles of blaming certain elements for causing problems in the Earth's environment. The latest fad is carbon dioxide. With more carbon dioxide, we have more plant growth, which in turn causes the release of more oxygen, which in turn allows the processing of more animal and plant life, and the process goes on indefinitely.

Now we have the genius, Mr Mclame, come out with a solution to this seriously flawed problem to further his enviral reputation for the next election. The public was supposed to spend billions to follow his directives. John, please go somewhere and take your politics with you.

Apparently the Senate remembers, because it just stuffed John McCain's "Fuel Economy and Security Act of 2002."

They should have stuffed John McCain while they were at it.
