Hmmmm? I don't know - this sounds a little like jealousy to me!

Sadly, and at the risk of sounding "racist," I don't think we can believe a word these "allies" say.

Based on their behavior on the battlefield and in the media, your comment is well-founded and could hardly be viewed as racist, except, of course, by the liberal element that believes that anything that disagrees with their point of view is automatically racist, bigoted or homophobic.

Cmdr. Zardran, wrapped in a brown woolen shawl against the wind that whipped thorough his command post south of Gardez, estimated as many as 300 fighters escaped Operation Anaconda and headed toward Pakistan through Urgoon in neighbouring Paktia province.

This guy is former Taliban. Know how I know that? Our troops haven't even offered this Commander a US winter coat. The Afghan fighters who are working WITH the US all have winter gear. This guy is from the eastern provences and chances are he's one of the guys who let the Al Qaeda pass during the raid on Tora Bora.

The Afgans are angered that the US no longer relies on the Northerm Alliance

The 2 men mentioned in the article ARE NOT Northern Alliance. They are from Patkia provience which is in southeastern Afghanistan. These are the people who were SUPPORTING the Taliban just a few weeks ago. You can easily tell NA troops because our guys have given them cold weather gear, and all their vehicles are adorned with a picture of Ahmed Shah Masood.

This is sour grapes from men who have not been chosen to be trained by us and are not on the government payroll. By shooting off their mouths like this, it's no wonder.
