Report: CIA warns Germany, Britain of bomb attacks
By Reuters
BERLIN - The United States' Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has warned Germany and Britain about possible bomb attacks by members of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network, Germany's Focus magazine reported on Saturday.
Citing a memo circulated on March 8 by Germany's BKA federal police authority, the magazine said the CIA tip-off was based on surveillance of two suspected al-Qaeda members in Pakistan.
The two were quoted by the CIA as saying there would soon be "good news" about bomb explosions in Germany and Britain. According to the report, due to be published in Focus magazine's Monday edition, the BKA classed the CIA alert as "vague" because it did not mention any time, target or method.
***But the authority said the fact there could still be al-Qaida "sleepers" in Germany meant security services should assume there was "an unchanged high risk situation in Germany".
Germany has been a center of the worldwide investigation into the September 11 hijacked plane attacks on U.S. cities since it emerged that three of the four kamikaze pilots studied in the northern city of Hamburg.
A German government spokeswoman declined to comment on the report but said that American and German security services remained in close contact with one another.

To: BC93 Are you pro-Al Queda? It sure does look like it. Or maybe it is just a new poster who is not really sure how to post since he or she just registered on March 11th. (yeah, right.)

London will be next.

Trust me, Germans are not too happy about this influx of evil, er Muslims BUT they need someone to absorb the costs of socialism as the population greys. What will be more important - money for socialism or safety? Or perhaps coersion into being a Muslim? Would the later be the most satisfactory since "religion" is not too important over there anymore?

Did you see the PMSNBC Special Report "The Making of the Dead Pilots" hosted by Forrest Sawyer. Forrest Sawyer asked one of the Rand's expert (the guy name escaped me?) on Germany al-Qaeda terrorist cells.
The expert responded "al-Qaeda completely penetrated the German internal security!!!". The German government has been working feverishly since 9-11 with the FBI to root out the terrorist cells from their system???

Possible explanation: the psychotic islamic jihadist mass murderers are not noted for diplomatic skills. I believe, only 2 weeks ago, they were thwarted in an attempt to blow up the US and German embassy's in Skopje, Macedonia...two of their strongest "world community" supporters in the Balkans. How do you figure that one??

The GuardianConsider the source.

London will be nextNeither Britain nor Germany are strangers to terrorist attacks. More of the same.

If there are bombings in Europe, then the people are going to have to wake up from their socialist slumber.
I'm sure the terrorists are aware of that and staying off Europe. Then again, terrorists ARE stupid. Nothing would bring our coalition closer than a few suicide bombings in France or London. Even though I don't wish that on anybody.

As bad as it sounds, I can't imagine anything better than several vicious attacks on Notre Dame or the Bundestag. What else will it take for the Great Appeasers to finally "get it". Of course, the problem is, all that would do is to raise their anger against AMERICA as being responsible because of our foreign policies. They would never dream of blaming the Arab regimes for whom they have been whores for so many decades. They would repeat their call for an immediate P.A. state and send $100 billion in "aid" to remedy the poverty which created the "need" for terrorism.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Yep thats about right. European leaders don't have a clue! Wish we(brits) could return to the days of Maggie Thatcher. Now she was a real leader.
To: Gemflint
Europeans are easy targets, and their on the fence about this whole war on terror, so attacking them would help al-Qaida, whereas attacking America would only earn them increased wrath on our part. The last time foreign terrorists hit Germany with a big operation (at the Munich Olympics), Germany caved in to them, and released all of the terrorists they took prisoner. England won't cave, but I'll bet Germany would (and the other countries around it wouldn't join).

Frankly, I could care less what any other country does. If European countries don't want to be a part of the war on terror, fine. Just don't let the bastards plan their attacks on the US in your country. The U.S. is more than capable of going it alone in this war. But there should be a warning made, European counties that don't want to fight the war should not expect America to pull their bacon out of the fire next time something happens.
To: The Vast Right Wing
FYI, some European countries have been fighting terrorists a lot longer than you think, and yes, that does include the French.
The US has its own fair share of al-qaeda planners and sympathisers, they are not exclusive to Europe.
I am not an al-qaeda or Europe apologist, actually I quite hate both intensely.
And your 'Bacon out of the fire' comment is very vague. Whose bacon did you pull outta the fire?
To: Gemflint
If we are surveilling al-Qaida terrorists, why aren't we killing (assassinating) them?
