What exactly is in this amnesty bill, besides giving green cards to aliens who've been stuck in INS limbo but would get their green cards anyway, that has got you so worked up?

1. Costs to American taxpayers increases:

Carrying Capacity Network, full article

Dr. Donald Huddle, Professor Emeritus of Economics at Rice University, found that in 1997 immigration cost the American taxpayer a net (after subtracting taxes immigrants pay) $70 billion per year, and if current trends continue, the costs for the 1998-2007 decade will be a net $932 billion. Americans are already suffering heavy levels of taxation, much of which is used for social services and related infrastructure costs associated with accommodating the newest members of our society.

According to Dr. George Borjas of Harvard University native born workers lose $133 billion annually because of job displacement and wage depression caused by immigration.

2. Encourages lawbreaking behavior for the reward of American citizenship or work status approval.

3. The INS is inefficient....and it is that agency which does background checks (which basically are no checks) into who will be allowed here. They just gave a terrorist a visa. More:

Tom Tancredo website for more info. and complete article on 245(i): Tom Tancredo

Specific reasons why Section 245(i) is a national security risk are as follows:

Allows hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to stay permanently without going through face-to-face interviews in our embassies abroad, conducted in their native languages.

Permits people to remain here for years—20 to 30 years in some cases—with a status just above an illegal immigrant, until their name comes up on a waiting list for green cards.

Entices millions more foreign nationals to enter the country without screening to be illegal immigrants in hopes that they, too, will be rewarded for their lawbreaking.

There is a mountain of evidence that we are experiencing a complete surrender of American sovereignty. The United States is a sovereign nation and our government refuses to stop the flood of foreigners. None of these foreigners has a birthright to enter this country. We, the people, can and SHOULD replace elected leaders who will not defend the border of the United States.

You might find this massive invasion of our country to be mildly amusing but the majority (millions of us) do not.

If you want to see real trouble, just watch what happens if this invasion is not halted.

We are not going to sit idly by and watch this great nation destroyed by political corruption, illegal invasion and destruction of the rule of law.
