FORCE them to vote, knowing that AMERICA is watching.. so often we let them get away with things because they are counting on the fact that so many Americans THINK they are wasting their time...

We MUST not give up on this.... Keep the pressure on YOUR Senators to bring this vote to the FLOOR for a vote by the FULL senate !!!

DO NOT allow Sen. Leheay and his fellow LIBERALS on the Judiciary Committee to prevent this vote from going to the floor!!!

Advise and consent means 100 Senators not 10 !!!

Sign PETITION to SUPPORT Judge Pickering...

Issue recess appointments for all judges until further notice.

Only after the Senate has had sufficient opportunity to bring the nominee to a vote by the entire Senate.

Note to Georgia conservatives: next time you're in the voting booth, if you can read, vote for every Republican you see on your ballot.

When they stop fielding candidates like Pat Swindel and Guy Milner, we will.

"Leahy said during 12 years on the federal bench, the judge often put his own beliefs above the law."

Of course Leahy NEVER does that, OOOOHHHHHH NNOOOOOOOO!! It's just that leaky Leahy's beliefs are different from Pickering's. Hypocritic goon!

If Zell's action was matched to his rhetoric, he would have switched parties long ago. I predict he will be a Demorat as long as he is in the Senate, all the while complaining about his fellow Rats. I am losing all respect for him.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, a Vermont Democrat, brushed off Miller's warning, saying, "I don't look at judicial nominations through a political prism."

Right. He doesn't look at them through a political prism, he looks at them through a political peep-hole -- and he shoots them down with a political laser.

This is Clinton's Legacy -- even awkward, hopelessly un-slick putzes like Leahy feel "empowered" to play the "what 'is' is" game.

Yo, Patso -- some folks should stick to the truth. You're no Clinton. You can lie, but not with aplomb. Frankly, you lie like a cheap rug. You make a good liar like Jack Webb would have made a good Disco King. If you had a dick, you'd be screaming in pain from having just stepped on it with both feet.

The left never seems to amaze me with their viciousness. I was always told that the house was the partisan body of the legislature while the senate was more "open minded" and "judicous". Now of course I realized that all of that was hokum. Democrats in the Senate have been venal since the John Tower nomination.

The 'rats will sometimes be reasonable and cooperative -- until they get the upper hand. Then all bets are off, and only a fool would trust them further than he could spit a mouth full of sand on a dry day.

The tragedy is that the Republicans continue to let the patronage machine run the sorry-assed losers to the top, so that they can bring the Marquis of Queensbury rules to a streetfight, and "lose like gentlemen".

With exception to the last minute names, Clinton nominations made the cut. This type of proceedure is not acceptable. What has Pickering done professionally to disqualify him from being sent to the floor? Why shouldn't the Rebulicans act in similar manner in the future?

"This means we must begin winning over voters in the mushy middle and winning over fringe party voters on the right. I did not see a single Libertarian Party, Constitution Party, Natural Law Party, or Taxpayer Party member vote for Judge Pickering today. I did see nine Republicans vote for him and ten Democrats vote against him."

"If you want third-party votes, earn them."

Hahahahah, funny guy!

If you want third-party legislators -- whose votes can be "earned" -- then you should elect them!

Let me guess? You're a Libertarian, right? Only a Libertarian could be that obuse, and completely miss the point, and then start a vicious volley of return fire, shooting every blank in his arsenal.

Dang, that was probably too subtle for you. Sorry.

Here, let's try the "for the literal-minded" version: how the flamin' f' is he supposed to "earn" the votes of nonexistent third-party legislators?

And L's wonder why they're told they've marginalized themselves into irrelevance...

"Any reason not to do the same to the Rats in the future?"

Tut-tut, my good man, that would not be very sporting of us, now would it. Such things are simply not done in the Country Club. Remember, we are the Grand Old Party. There are more important things than winning. We prefer to retain our honor, even if it means losing. For if we lose, we shall lose like gentlemen.

Now brush up on your manners, young man. And don't forget to send more money!

Did you even read what either of us posted?

I'm supposed to vote for Republicans, because then Republicans would have the Senate (again), and then Pickering would have been confirmed.

Pickering would have had a much better go at it had the Lottians in the Senate not been so incompetent (e.g. "Dur, ya think we shoulda had one a them thar war rooms and done sum investigatin' and maybe start speakin' up a little bit before the night before the hearin'?") I suppose that the Republican-controlled House and Republican President Bush should get kudos for all the big government crap they've advanced in the last year? Nope. The GOP is abandoning, en masse, our Constitution and the few of us who actually thinks it means exactly what it says. I'm not going to vote for cowards who are selling out conservatives.
