I can easily believe it. The prosecution didn't even challenge during the sentence hearing. They sent a signal that they believed all along that Yates was a life case, not a capital case. The jury went along.

Mitigation, though, made it impossible for the prosecution to argue otherwise. EVERYONE accepted that this lady had some major screws loose.

She gets out a 77 years old after 40 years. She won't have any grandkids for us to worry about, will she?

I predict her husband divorces her in the next 3 years and remarries. Any takers?

I would bet you are correct. Not only that, he'll try to start another baseball team.

There was one report a few weks ago that he may have been having an affair--reason for Andrea's being so distraught.

If that is true, (considering his attitudes hasn't seemed to me to be devastated at the lost of his children), it would be -- get rid of the wife, no children now, a whole new future.

But prosecutors may also go after him will charges of child endangerment.

Going to be interesting to see if he does. I hope she doesn't divorce him, just to prevent him from marrying someone else, and doing the same mind control crap on wife #2.

They were told that they shouldn't have any more kids because of her state of mind but that didn't stop Russel Yates from getting her pregnant again. Must be they didn't believe in birth control, or celibacy. If he's so 'pious', one would think that extra marital sex would be out of the question.

Perhaps a forced celibate life for him will be a small token of justice for him, jerk that he is!

After the divorce (no sense having to split the profits), he'll sell the movie rights and probably write a book (withing a year). THEN he might remarry, with a prenupt....

He won't have to divorce her. He has ample grounds for annulment, ie. insanity and no prospect of producing children for him. The law on this varies somewhat between states, but there's no question that he can rid himself of her in this manner.
