According to Florida State Statute 794.05, anyone who is 24 or older and has sex with someone 16 or 17 -- even consensually -- has committed a second-degree felony. It is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. GOOD

To tell you the truth I am gettin so tired of reading about another "man of the cloth" having sex with or molesting boys. Don't get me wrong, I am not a feminist but, when was the last time you heard of a nun getting charged with something like that? Why can't these people leave their ministry or priesthood if they find that they are having a hard time controling themselves, or maybe try to seek counseling. I am sorry but this is Sick!

``He was like the neighborhood watch.''This is NOT a comfort.
Why would a crime watch savvy guy park his van in a suspicious place to have sex with a teen? He was self-destructive and wanting to get caught. Satan wins that round. He got the preacher, the kid and the church. Now as people twist into morality contortions to support the pastor he'll win more..... just as he wins when others are turned against the church.

That was uncalled for. Protestants have their share of pervies.

"Some Latinos also outlined opposition to formal involvement of Catholics in Promise Keepers. Misael Castillo, pastor of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Miami, noted that Hispanic Baptist pastors in that city have vowed not to participate in any event where Catholics are in leadership roles. Killings of evangelicals by Catholics in Chiapas, Mexico, are a sore issue for many Latino Protestants. This makes PK's recent appointment of Catholic Michael Timmis of Detroit to its board problematic. McCartney, who was raised Catholic and now attends a Vineyard church, says Catholics are welcome if they can abide by PK's "Seven Promises," mission statement, and statement of faith." Linky poo
He's an Anti-Catholic!!

He was probably a closet Catholic Catholicism has nothing to do with it. And it is not the only religion that has had its share of child molesters. There are plenty of ministers and reverends who have had affairs with other men and women and even little boys. They live under the cover of being happily married while living this sickening double life. It happens in all religions. NO RELIGION IS EXEMPT. THESE PEOPLE ARE OUT OF CONTROL!

It was a joke. Think about it.

Read above and stop being so sensitive.

Churches place too much emphasis on telling people that sin is hard to resist, but they must work to resist it anyway, and some will fail and need forgiveness - let us pray to resist the sins, let us pray for forgiveness everyday as we all fail.
They don't teach that we are born again New Creatures in Christ and that sin does NOT have a hold over us -- the blood of Christ is sufficient to free us. The priests and preachers are falling into their own traps of dependency upon support groups and self-control (fallible) instead of the promise of freedom from sin. FREEDOM.

"Note: He was probably a closet Catholic." What is it with people like you anyway? Any chance you get to take a cheap-shot at Catholics you jump at! A truly moral and dececent person would have not made such a comment. Please stop being a jerk...while you have the chance!
To: grumpster-dumpster
It's a joke. Why are you Catholics so sensitive about this? Is there a reason?
To: AppyPappy
I know you were only joking, and I understand the point you were making, but I'm sure you can understand why some are hypersensitive towards that kind of thing...
To: AppyPappy
Apparently your joke was too subtle to be funny. In other words, it's not me, it's the joke that has the problem.

Absurd. The age of consent ought to be lowered to 16. Kids today are extremely sexually active at 14. It's time to stop living in a make-believe world (to quote Tommy James and The Shondells).

Note: He was probably a closet Catholic.as much as the Catholic Church has its issues, and despite the fact I like to whip em like a rented pony occasionally (I'm ex myself)- That comment was pretty harsh.
I think the larger issue lies in the fact these animals recognize they can predate safely from the pulpit as it is a trusted position - These pigs by no means should be confused with dedicated clergy - Catholic OR Protestant.
