USO Canteen Freeper Style
War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil. We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.
On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.
William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."
The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.
This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."
We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.
This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.
Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!
"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

LOL... now THAT'S a Margarita..... *giggle*
My flower garden is really pretty right now. I'm afraid that I'm not a novice gardener, but I am learning. I have fun in the spring and fall, but when summer hits my little flowers are on their own. I don't like to get out in the heat and there never seems to be enough water to keep them alive. :)
Have a GREAT day!!!!!

This is so neat Aquamarine. Thank you so much for the beautiful graphic and the music too. I am still singing along with it right now.
One time at a baseball game a couple of people in front of us would NOT stand for the anthem and FallGuy and I wanted to drop our popcorn on their heads. LOL
They were physically able to stand, they had been running up and down the isle so that was not the reason.
Thank you again so much.

Well, looks like the war correspondents are starting to get the stories out about Operation Anaconda.
And they're getting a lot of 'human interest' put into their releases, as we see in
this article published in the European Edition of Stars and Stripes and posted by FReeper Stand Watch Listen.

Jacob's Ladder
American Merchant Marine Veterans Memorial
The bronze statue depicts two merchant seamen climbing a Jacob's ladder after making a rescue at sea. The designer of the statue was the Wilmington, California sculptor, Jasper D'Ambrosi.
His creation of the original design was finished and accepted in early 1986. Sadly, D'Ambrosi died on August 1 of the same year before starting the clay model. The enlargement was done by his sons, Marc and Michael as a tribute to their father.
Jacobs Ladder was cast in bronze at the family foundry in Tempe, Arizona in 1987. The memorial was donated by the City of San Pedro while $700,000 for the project came from private donors. The statue sits atop a large fountain and is surrounded by a plaza encompassing a long stretch of sloped seating which includes beautiful marble and plaques

I would like to remind everyone that the war protestors of Fresno are holding a large peace rally this week-end. I have been making telephone calls to Veterans Organization begging for help with Support the Troops Rally this Friday. Now I'm begging anyone within driving distance of Fresno to please join us this Friday between 5:00 and 7:00 on the sw corner of Shaw and Blackstone. If you can only give us a half hour we will welcome your support.
Thank You.

I will come back for the dessert with my second cup of Mexican coffee.
What a terrific brunch!! Thanks.
