Ratty, the Mexicans are always crossing the border, going back and forth. They are not cutting ties with their real homeland. I lived in a neighborhood with many of them for 2 years, and they were perfectly open about it.
The Mexican men were extremely lecherous toward me, the teens were stealing from us, breaking into our house 4 times and getting caught, and always trying to befriend us and stab us in the back first chance they got.
My kids invited some over to play PlayStation - the next month the PlayStation was stolen. Gabe let one ride his new bike, the next day his bike was stolen. One of the boys was over for dinner, the next week my stereo was stolen. We were not at all prejudiced against them when we moved to Texas, but we are learning. They will never be friends - they just pretend to be. They will only be loyal to each other.

I agree with all you said. Most feel we owe them something, and will take it if we dont give it to them. My ex-wife was from Venezuela and worked at a turkey procesing plant while I was in the Air Force. (Carolina Turkeys, Mount Olive NC for the INS). 90% of the workers were "undocumented" mexicans. They made sexual advances and chased my wife around on the job with no repercussions. They should try to improve Mexico before they try and suck us dry.

My experiences working right beside of them in the fields for about 10 summers, is quite different.
