Ya know, ratty one....you really ought to leave the fix'n thing alone when it comes to Mo Lady. Rather, you should be sweetly cajoling and caressing in your word usage so as to encourage her to want to be fix'n just the way a southerner wants things to be fixed!

You seem to take so much delight in antagonizing her that if she says she's fix'n to come out slapping, I think you better heed her intent.....don't worry about whether she's getting ready to....ratty, you had better just start ducking....fast!

(I can't speak to verb noun agreement or idiomatic French equivalent of that last phrase.)
