I rather thought the elder Bush really didn't care whether he served a second term or not....I just never felt like his heart was in it--for whatever reason. I don't see Perot as giving us Clinton--there were a tremendous amount of dissatisfied voters--there is no proof or near certainty that they would have all held their nose and voted for what they perceived as the lesser of two bad choices. I knew people that were interested in Perot--and they weren't dummies--but they were totally disgusted with the existing two-headed single party system.
We have to face the fact that Perot did not hold a gun to anybody's head and force them to pull the lever for him....and what was the number he got....19 million??
One of the biggest things I came across when I ran for office in '86 was the number of people who were not voting and the reasons they gave....and Montana is a state that has high voter registration--or did back then anyway....their voice was never heard, nothing ever really changes, the only time they care is at vote getting time were among the reasons. The Demoncraps always sell their souls...so that's nothing new to campaign against...the media whores were with them--again, nothing new....I faced these things in a house district race in Montana in 1986.

My mother was born 1927
Your Mom is the same age as my Grandma. You must have came from the last viable egg she had.
That WOULD explain a lot though.

My Grandmas were born in 1910 and 1916. *L* (my dad's mom was only 16 when he was born in 1932)

..."GHWB would
never say that .. it's not in his upbrining .. even though he would have thought it .. he would not use those words"...
That's why I feel if he had said the Clymer deal that people would woke up and said, "WOW"--the guy has some cajones after all! They would have had to re-think how they felt about the 'Wimp'...sorry, but that's what the media suggested was being said about the guy. That's why people I knew cracked up about him compared to Barbara--they were thinking maybe she should have been the President and him the First Lady....he just didn't exude anything suggesting a take charge man. Sadly there were a bunch of soccer moms who thought the Pervert exuded something but were too stupid to realize what it was--slime!

If I recall correctly, Mo has at least one younger sister. Some women keep having babies well into their 40s (which is why my parents do not want me to remarry until I'm 50 *LOL*)
To: gratefulwharffratt
Regardless of what Researchers say .. it is possible for women to have children in their 40's without modern medicine .. lol
BTW .. she was 36 when I was born

"The Media Knew and they hold part of the blame also for the 8 yr nightmare"
Of course, they knew. If from no other source than me. LOL. I called newspapers and TV stations and sent email but not one of them did a single stroy against Clinton or Gore. The media wanted Clinton and they weren't going to hurt him if they could keep from doing so. It was disgusting. When that asinine business about the grocery scanner got so much press, I wrote Jennings, Brokaw, Rather et al. I asked when was the last time they had seen a sitting President doing his own grocery shopping. Or for that matter when was the alst time they shopped for groceries. GHWB was and is first and formost a gentleman and he certainly wasn't/isn't a wuss. I'd pit his masculinity and courage against the entire press corps who lived to criticize him.

My experiences working right beside of them in the fields for about 10 summers, is quite different. Those who come to work and are out of the cities working are completely different from the scum that washes up in the cities.

If I recall a lot of the college educated BOOMER soccor moms voted for Clinton because he was cute .. he knew the price of a gallon of milk and the cost of a loaf of bread .. oh and let's not forget all those town meeting and stopping at the McDonalds and Donut Shops .. He made ALL kinds of promises .. he got the gay support and they were the first ones he screwed ..
One thing I will give Clinton credit for .. is that he can sling it better then anyone I know ..
The thing with GHWB is .. he was not and is not made of the same cloth as Clinton .. He lost the election because he didn't stoop to Clinton's level
And yes I do believe Ross played a big part in Clinton winning .. keep in mind Clinton only got what 26 or 28% of the votes
Why folks voted for Ross .. I have no idea .. because IMO ... Ross is and idiot .. funny to listen to .. but not as a leader of this Country ... but this is America and they have the right to vote for whoever they want

I thought Ross Perot was like a cartoon character - the bad little guy who threatens to use his freeze ray on the world until a superhero takes him out. Too bad we didn't have a superhero in 1992.

Expecting a gusty cold front tomorrow catpuppy? It's not all bad

The media wanted Clinton and they weren't going to hurt him if they could keep from doing so Exactly .. I'll say I didn't know all this history about Clinton back then like I do now
But there was something about him I just didn't like nor trust
I still remember saying to my Soccer Mom sister back in 93 that Clinton would end up being the worst thing that ever happen to this country ..
She wanted facts .. I didn't have them at the time .. The internet wasn't big back then .. I just had a gut feeling
Turns out my gut was right

Your Grandma must be bugging you to provide the farm with more little ratts' feet pitter patter... whereas I had the opposite bugging from my extended family. Everytime my Mom called them, her sisters or mom would ask if Valerie is pregnant again?

Either Newsweek or Time ran a good article about the crooked Tyson/Clinton connections just before the election, and I wrote a commentary about it in the local daily newspaper, but all-in-all critical stories about Clinton were hard to come by, despite the terrible record Arkansas had under his many years as governor.
