CAFE standards defeat was a MAJOR victory... 20 years in the making.

Welcome back Nully. Glad you had a good time with the kids.

Best line: "I could use some global warming..."

Eh? CAFE is dead? The gov't is going to let me decide if I want to buy a gas guzzler? AFT (About Friggin' Time)

There are some threads I don't bother with - the bozos will have their say, and the thread will die. Those threads deserve obscurity, not attention.

Smooch. Hey, money talks, bullshit walks. About time, too. :)

Uh, I don't think you maybe, might have to be concerned about calling someone a poo poo head, anymore, maybe ever. :( UH, MO, I think I've graduated from the "youcanbitemyass", school. Oh my goodness. Follow me to success. :)

My Time Warner cable connection has been sucking after 10pm the last couple nights. My neighbor must have opened a porn site or something. I may opt for the wall mart $10 dial-up if this continues!

Call the company and complain. Time Warner's Roadrunner is available here - and a competitor, Clearsource. I went with the competition. No problemo. When Clearsource came to town, suddenly the local Time/Warner had a change of heart and began offering Fox News. Time/Warner needs competition in every market. I'll bet they are trying to buy out Clearsource.

I have been using road runner for 3 months with no problems, until the last 3 days.

" I may opt for the wall mart $10 dial-up if this continues!" I hope it's a better provider than K-Mart's Blue Light Special! What a joke.

We've been having an interesting time over here. My DSL wasn't connecting, for a couple of days, and after spending a loooong time on the phone, I spent some time with tech support. The story is that the start-up programs can interfere with the dsl connection, so we shut down most of the start-up programs. Now is seems to be OK.
Hubby bought a flat screen TV for us today (we've been using the ancient 19" I bought in 1983) and is busily hooking everything up. We've had a horrible time getting the DVD player to work with TV, but it seems to be working now. This technology is challenging!

We also signed up for DishNetwork while we were at it. It costs just 3 or 4 dollars a month more than our stinkin' cable, and have a lot more channels. Isn't competition a wonderful thing?

Everything seems to be working good now.. I just panic when I spend $40 dollars a month and have no recourse when the system blows.

When I say "blows", I mean "sucks"!

Wow - you're moving up almost TWO DECADES in TV technology!
To: ValerieUSA
It is amazing, isn't it? I am truly a tightwad. As long as the thing worked, I couldn't justify buying a new one. It still works, but my husband insisted we upgrade. You know what? I'm glad. This one is so much nicer.
