"... ye also ought to wash one another's feet" Monday March 11th, 2002
As you read John chapter thirteen, I want you to look for something, I want you to look for the verse that would have you know that Jesus washed all of His Apostles feet except those of Judas Iscariot, the traitor. For you see, there is no verse to indicate that. The reason is quite simple really, Jesus washed the traitors feet, just as He did the feet of the Apostle Peter who would deny Him and John whom Jesus loved more than all.
Today's thought is more addressed to the President of these United States than any other, for what I would like President Bush to understand is this: Jesus washed the feet His most beloved Apostle John, the feet of the one who would deny Him Peter, and the feet of he who betrayed Him Judas Iscariot. He did not send for the Roman Centurion who would be in charge of the Roman band that would scourge, torture and crucify Him, nor for Pilate or Herod. Jesus washed the feet of and offers salvation to individuals, not governments.
You Mr. President, are not wrong in making nations and countries aware of your intentions to use nuclear weapons in defense of this nation and the people of this nation. For the Lord has put you were you are. He has made you responsible for certain things. Not the education of children, but the protection of them, not from their parents whom God gave custody of them to, but from nations who would harm or enslave them. You will not be wrong when you bring to trial for treason, members of congress who leak items relating to national security. But you are wrong when you prosecute a father of a baby in the womb for stopping, even by force, the taking of the life of his baby in the womb of the babies mother.
I know it's hard George, but keep praying, keep seeking Jesus and His truth and answers in His word and you'll do fine. But more important, you will do what is right in His sight. The Lord be with you Mr. President.
John chapter thirteen:
1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that His hour was come that He should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved His own which were in the world, He loved them unto the end. 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him(Jesus);
3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He was come from God, and went to God; 4 He rose from supper, and laid aside His garments; and took a towel, and girded Himself. 5 After that He poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith He was girded. 6 Then cometh He to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto Him, "Lord, dost Thou wash my feet?"
7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. 8 Peter saith unto Him, "Thou shalt never wash my feet". Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me. 9 Simon Peter saith unto Him, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head." 10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. 11 For He knew who should betray Him; therefore said He, Ye are not all clean.
12 So after He had washed their feet, and had taken His garments, and was set down again, He said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? 13 Ye call Me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than He that sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, HE THAT EATETH BREAD WITH ME HATH LIFTED UP HIS HEEL AGAINST ME. (Psalm 41:9) 19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am He. 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receives whomsoever I send receives Me; and he that receives Me receives Him that sent Me.
21 When Jesus had thus said, He was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray Me.
22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting(wondering) of whom He spake. 23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved(John). 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom He(Jesus) spake. 25 He(John) then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto Him, "Lord, who is it?"
26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop(piece of bread), when I have dipped it. And when He had dipped the sop, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him(Judas Iscariot). Then said Jesus unto him(Judas Iscariot), That thou doest, do quickly. 28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent He spake this unto him(Judas Iscariot). 29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor. 30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.
31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is(will be) the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in Him. 32 If God be glorified in Him, God shall also glorify Him in Himself, and shall straightway glorify Him.
33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek Me: and as I said unto the Jews, 'Whither I go, ye cannot come'; so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give unto you. That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.
36 Simon Peter said unto Him, "Lord, whither goest Thou?" Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow Me now; but thou shalt follow Me afterwards.
37 Peter said unto Him, "Lord, why cannot I follow Thee now? I will lay down my life for Thy sake." 38 Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for My sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied Me thrice. (John Chapter Thirteen ACP/KJV)
My brothers, the leftist in the media and the congress are going to attack our brother George, they are going to attack him not out of love for country or love of God, but out of hate for the Lord and this country. Take a minute today to drop him an email at President@Whitehouse.gov And let him know that you support him and that he is in your prayers. But before you do, make sure he is in your prayers.
In closing, I have one other message for the President. George, go back and reread verses 12 - 15, notice the Lord did not use His power to interfere with what His apostles were going to do, notice He allows them to have their free will. Should you do less with those who abide as citizens in this country. Protect from foreign invasion and intervention, protect from criminals in politics, the courts and the press. Yet leave family to dad's, leave education to parents, leave upbringing to parents, oh yes some will mess up, some will raise children who drink, smoke and do drugs, but is it not best to trust us, as we trust you? As Christ trusted His disciples to do what was right.
May our Lord, Messiah Yeshua be with you all this day, may he continue to bless you and yours and to hear your prayers. May he be with our president and his staff in the days that are to come and may He raise up a Paul for the muslim hoards. But may he also reassure the president that he is right in using all force, including nuclear, to protect those who Jesus has given into the care of our President, George Bush.
Amen.
Now it appears that Jesus and you do not like killing babies, but do not mond killing millions with nuclear bombs?
Jesus did not say the Caesar thing for killing, it was for taxes. Here again, you and the Taliban choose to interpret things the way you like.
I am not for abortion, but I hate the fundamentalists that always bring that issue with fervor. That is not because I approve of abortions, or because I don't like the fundamentalists. It is simply because: I WISH THIS HATE ENERGY, AND ORGANIZATION SPENT ON ABORTION CAN BE SPENT ON THE REAL TERMITS THAT ARE EATING AWAY AT AMERICA. These are, Hollywood, the teachers unions, the ACLU, the liberals, the Moslems, all the Moslems, 99% of the comedians, MTV,...
Absolutely incorrect, first, muslims do not read scripture, they read some blasphemous thing called the koran. And second, do you not realize that God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirt are all one and the same? If you knew and understood that, you would know and understand that abortion and war are 180 degrees apart in Scripture. For the Father address both in the Old Testament.
Luke 22:36
And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
Matthew 8:5-13
Here, Jesus' apostle Paul enjoins us all to obey civil authority and makes it quite clear that rulers are entitled to use the sword.
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good and thou shalt have praise of the same.
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Romans 13:1-4
Actually, the occasion for His utterance was taxes, but He answered with a general principle, ie. to render unto Caesar those things (not just taxes) that are Caesar's. If He had meant only taxes, He would have said so. He didn't.
You forgot the first class in the communist cell ideology ... Sesame street.
We can all co-operate translates with little difficulty into, can't we all just get along?
Flame retardant suit ... ON!
Gratutious killing, no. But for self-defense or to deter aggression, yes. There is no conflict. It is what a wise and good president must do in a fallen and broken world to preserve the lives of the greatest number of the citizens over which he has been given stewardship.
