As it's been discussed in previous threads, abortion is murder. Killing in a time of war is acceptable. The same goes for the Death penalty. The criminal CHOOSES to commit the crime, he pays the price of that crime.

A baby in the womb is not allowed to choose life or death.

The terrorists CHOSE to hijack aircraft and crash them into buildings and kill as many people as possible. Therefore we are righteous in our defense of our nation.

Gratutious killing, no. But for self-defense or to deter aggression, yes. There is no conflict. It is what a wise and good president must do in a fallen and broken world to preserve the lives of the greatest number of the citizens over which he has been given stewardship.
