[history]
There's plenty of laughter and a little sadness in the hunting community over an incident involving a deer that collided with an automobile driven by two animal rights campaigners who belong to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The folks who worship at the altar of animals now want to sue a New Jersey game department over the incident, claiming it's the state's fault that it happened.

Does he drive a Honda?

In Idaho, we call it the "wildlife obstacle course" with dodging elk, deer, antelope, horses, cattle and bear as the challenges. Makes it very interesting.

And you posted this article for what reason? Is it funny, is it a pity, or is it just you?

Your comment at #52 is a little puzzling? Was it just you being funny? PETA, At least I don't believe, think of animals are Gods? Where do you get such awful information, or is it just your sense of humor?
To: grist for the mill
Yes.

That's as I thought, but it is too bad that space is taken up by posts relating to settled issues on this site - freepers do not like PETA types period.
Rush picking up this garbage - very doubtful. Perhaps there is something in the article that is attached to you in some way. Man, there are sure a lot of more than passingly strange people in this world.

Even if this happened during deer season they admit it happened at 1 am. Deer hunting is not allowed after dark. The deer was either looking for food or a mate. Stupid PETA they are looking for someone/NJ to pay for fixing the car.

In order for humor to 'work' there has to be some amount of truth in the joke.
For example, a joke of a sexual nature about GW probably would fall flat on it's face. That same joke, told about Clinton would probably be humorous to most people, or at least understandable to them.
If you didn't see the humor, or at least understand, my little one liner about PETA, you have misunderstood who they are and what they are about.

I think there could be alot of luck involved. I hit a deer once while driving a geo metro. The deer had just leaped and struck the hood of my car while in mid air. The impact shot the deer straight up and over the roof of my car. There was only a few small cracks as the base of the windshield and a few hairs stuck to the windshield wipers. There was less VISIBLE damage to my geo metro than to your pickup. It looked just like a very large man(a giant maybe) sat on the hood. But about 3 weeks later, the geo metro died on the road due to a combination of oil and water leaks that led to a seized engine. I was so glad that it seized BEFORE getting the bodywork repaired. I don't know if I was lucky or not, for being uninjured, but just to be sure, my next vehicle was a pickup.

It was not funny. Every statement that you make reflects back on you and tells more about yourself than the people that you are attempting to annoy or denigrate. My question is, why do you feel that you have to comment at all and who are you trying to communicate with on this site? Comparing anything with God is sacrilegious, and is especially wrong when it's also a lie disguised as humor.
To: grist for the mill
It was not funny.IMO thats because you don't understand PETA and their underlying beliefs.
Why does MY exposing their underlying beliefs through a joke bother you so much? Are you a PETA member?
Worshiping animals above all else seems wrong to me, so I respond to their behavior with humor(in this case mockery). I believe that anger is not as an effective tool. Also, since these folks are acting from an emotional standpoint, and many are perhaps irrational (as evidenced by the news story), logic is useless. That leaves humor and mockery as good tools to use. I hope PETA types read this thread.

why do you feel that you have to comment at all Feel? Hmm............. very progressive choice of words.
Think.

Be careful who you say that to, humor isn't always what it "is".

The guy that towed me told me a story of somebody who hit an elk. Nobody was injured, but the story is quite... interesting. The man was driving a Ford car, a thunderbird, I think, but I don't remember for certain. He also had a sleeping passenger in the passenger seat. When they hit the elk, the elk went over the car, except for the head. The head went through the windshield, severed, and landed on the lap of the sleeping passenger. And so the passenger wakes up, blood everywhere, and an elk head in his lap. I think that's one person who will never again be able to fall asleep in a car!

Worshiping animals above all else seems wrong to me No, I'm not a member of PETA, but I really get irritated by comments, mainly from Democrates, that are simply lies. I'd like for you to try to prove the above statement, as I believe that it is a lie, or at the very least propaganda being used to push the PETA group out of center. I "feel" that this type of statement, along with comparing anything to GOD, is just as bad as Hitler's propaganda agenda. Please keep in mind that reality has no feeling, so what is real for you may not be real for others, including the PETA types, so spewing "humor" as the truth all over the web without a clue as to what is real, what is the truth, etc., is just simply a clueless way to communicate.

I'd like for you to try to prove the above statement, as I believe that it is a lie,Please set the standard of proof that you would find acceptable.

I've never seen a deer going 60 MPH. Hit a slower one next time. My wife clipped one a month ago in the mini-van - $3,600 damage to the van, but so far the deer hasn't filed a claim with the insurance company.
