To: Paradox
I sure hope this does NOT become a "race" thing. I was just as outraged when I thought the homeless man was black, and the nurses aid was some white party girl. Now that I know the races are reversed, it doesnt, it just CANT bother me any more or less.

And I think if you go back to the initial news stories, FReepers were just as outraged when no races were mentioned.

I doubt any of us would have defended this woman if it had turned out she was white and the victim was black.

However I don't believe that if the initial news stories did not mention race, that was not by accident.

I have noticed in the local papers here, and on TV news, that in the last couple of years whenever the description of the perpetrator of a crime is posted race is now no longer included in the description. When I got to looking into some of these it seemed to always come up that the perp was black.
