A reasonable person would know that INTENTIONALLY withholding medical treatment from someone in like condition, while additionally INTENTIONALLY withholding food and water, would cause that person to die.Well argued. But just another thing to add, she was, according to media reports, also a "nurses aid", and therefore would be even more qualified than the average person to know that the man wouild die if he was left there.
In addition the police accounts told that she seemed utterly detached as she recounted the story, she had sex with her boyfriend after the event and she laughed about it as she recounted it to her friends. Thus showing her total callous disregard for the suffering and death of this man which she caused.
I bet if they go for the death penalty they'll get it.

Hitting him with her car may have not been premeditated, but she left him there to die. Unless she thought he would magically heal and walk away from her garage, I'd say there's a case for premeditation there.

Thanks. But I did touch on what you commented above. Apparently, I lacked your clarity (something I am so prone to doing). What you wrote is what I meant when I said :
"Take that "reasonable person" standard and then couple it with someone whose occupation is in the medical field, i.e., a nurse's aid, such as this monster was.....it goes way beyond what a "REASONABLE PERSON" would know what to do. . ."

You forgot "sunday school stand-out." See post #56.

This crime was just impossible for me to comprehend even before I learned that the ***** was having sex while this poor guy was dieing. What kind of people could do this kind of thing? I pray that the victims' family can have some kind of peace of mind sometime in the future.

Death Race 2000, dudes!
To: alnick
Also had she been white, do you think the media would be saying how she was a "girl scout and a sunday school standout" ala Soledad O'Brien at NBC?

Her lawyer can ask for a plea-bargain all he wants. The prosecutor does not have to accept it. Only a fool would.
To: MeeknMing
I'm not sure how they could offer this woman ANY bail at all, given that she has clearly demonstrated that she has no regard whatsoever for other human beings.
To: nicmarlo
My apologies, you did say that.
To: MeeknMing
I'm sure that Jesse, Johnnie and Al will be there soon.

I often lack clarity (to me it's very clear, but to others, it's kind of muddy); one of my continuing flaws when writing, lol. My college professor was almost always saying "clarity, clarity, clarity."

Sorry, must have been replying to a quote from the person YOU were replying to.

It will be interesting to see what liberal pop icon pops out of the woodwork to defend the defenseless, once again. That would be interesting. Defending a young black woman's "unstandable" anger against "white men's dominance" which surely she reacted to.
To: MeeknMing
This is really not about race.Probably not given her apparent gross indifference to human life in general. Still, someone should ask Chante if she would have helped this man if he was a "brother". If she answers in the affirmative, they should tack on "hate crime" charges as well
To: Skooz
I don't know if you heard this yet, but this happened in
TEXAS!!! Have some faith, will ya?

"Sorry, must have been replying to a quote from the person YOU were replying to."No problem. I think I have done the same thing on an occasion or two.
I think we have intent for all kinds of things here.
To: JZoback
Maybe Danny Glover will come to Texas again to whine that this is all a case of mistaken identity.

If you want to make a donation to GSA, do it directly, NOT through the cookies. Those $4 and $5 boxes of cookies only make pennies per box for the scouts while the maufacturer cleans up with free child labor to boot! If you like the cookies enough to want to pay for them by all means do so, but don't think you doing anything much for scouting.
