Consider also the damage we do to foreign countries by taking their able bodied workers. We let those countries absorb the cost of bearing, raising, and educating those workers (especially h1B entrants). Then we take their prime productivity years away from the taxpayers in those countries. These are their potential entrepreneurs because they are risk takers or perhaps might STAY AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEIR OWN CORRUPT GOVERNMENTS. You have no idea how much people in foreign countries resent that.

Oh, but you want your cheap vegetables. You want the taxpayers to subsidize your gardeners, dishwashers, and food growers. I'll bet you want tax supported housing for them too so that you don't have to pay a sufficient wage for them to afford the rent. Of course, if you WERE paying those wages then perhaps Americans would be doing those jobs or we could justify automating our way out of needing them.

Your preferred policy, what you call charity, is destructive to both countries. To make it a criteria for being a good Christian is a condescending self-serving comment, righteousness as filthy rags.)

I hate to tell you a little secret - a lot of those able bodied workers are raking in the dollars from America, taking jobs away from Americans so that they can retire in their home land and live like kings. I am against all immigration. A lot of people on this post seem to think the only problem with immigration is the "illegal" immigration - I disagree 100%. Immigration (legal or illegal) is no longer in the best interest of America.
