The top executive at Red Cross gets $450,000.00. I saw that reported a few months ago when there was a change in leadership. That's obscene.
I am amazed at the non-profits springing up all over the place these days. It's the new way to scam taxpayer money and have fund raisers to line pockets of so-called high level employees.

More correctly I would submit to you that the LEFT has sought to co-opt existing organizations by infultrating them and redirecting their activities to support leftist causes and the rewriting of history. That's why they wanted the Boy Scouts so badly.

United Way lost me when they cut out the Boy Scouts a couple years ago. And me as well. :)
I have a link to grassfire petitions/mailgrams to support the Boy Scouts on my profile page.

For what it's worth, here's the email address for these idiots:
PublicAffairs@oc-redcross.org
I didn't flame them, although I wanted to - I just emailed them the text of "God Bless the USA"...

here is the story right from the oc redcross web site ORANGE COUNTY, March 8, 2002 The Sunday volunteer recognition program at the American Red Cross Orange County Chapter in Santa Ana, California, honors America both through the presentation of colors and in the music program. The American Red Cross Chapter in Orange County and the Orange County High School of the Arts regret that we were not able to reach agreement on the music program with conductor Cherilyn Bacon. The dispute was over the music program and has nothing to do with patriotism. "God Bless America" is a wonderful song. The event begins with the posting of the American Flag and the singing of "The Star-Spangled Banner." The dispute centers only on our sensitivity to religious diversity, and a preference for a music program that would be inclusive and not offend different populations participating in this particular event. John Hutchinson deserves a medal from the BLOODHOUNDS!I agree with you, he is another pitbull on this issue, isn't he.

#154........... Interesting history.

They'll get my blood, but they'll never get my $.Most local hospitals have blood donation centers. It is not always necessary to go through the Red Cross to give blood.

Well, I knew about Linda but..My daughter and son-in-law just moved to OC and it is sooo conservative. Flags, God Bless America stickers every where. Christian fish on half the cars, it has been great. But they do come from northern California so there is a BIG difference.

Ah!!!!!!! Good one! Sort-of-semi-subtle but gets the message across in a positive, non-flaming method! I love it!
To: Abundy
I forgot to thank you in my previous reply for offering that e-mail contact. Yes, I'll use it to send them a similar message. But now that you mention it.......... I may send the OC Red + one of
these CDs (the one at the top of the list released after 9-11, a portion of the proceeds being donated NOT to the Red Cross but other charitable organizations)!
Let's just say I've heard this group in person first hand.... many times :-)

Good for you! Thank you for your efforts to do so! The power of the pen, indeed!

Does anyone have an e-address link for the school? I would like to voice support for the choir teacher, who was berated by the school 'director'.
I went to the Orange County Red cross site. They post an e-address for volunteers, donations, etc. I checked "other", and voiced my opinion!

"60 Minutes" just does have fine hatchet job on the the San Diego Red Cross!! Even the left wing is upset with the terribly run organization. When I was young(a while ago) this was a fine organization. Now it is just a fundraising group for the betterment of themselves. I will never contribute to them or the United Way again. The Salvation Army still does good work.

Darn, I missed 60 Minutes tonight! I did find the school e-address last night and sent a letter supporting the choir director.
Wasn't it the Red Cross in California, that caused a big stink a few months ago, because they wanted to extend benefits to 'gay's partners', and they finally backtracked?
The liberals in California seem to have a bad effect on every organization they get in charge of!!

Might want to check this one out regarding the new Orange County. Your family should have seen it in the eighties.
