Yes, you are right on this one. Hal Lindsay has been wrong on several occasions, prophesying the Second Coming in the 1980s, for example.

The Word says when a prophet is wrong---if what he specifically prophesies does not come to pass---you should not follow him any more. That doesn't mean you should "dis" him, because God will do that. But I quit listening to Hal some time ago.

It is also worth pointing out than in several places a PRECONDITION to the return of Jesus is that we "should all come into the unity of the faith" and I don't see much unity out there. Indeed, every time anyone MOVES toward unity, the CFR/New World Order people rise up.

There is also the prophecy that says that Jesus would sit at the right hand of the Father "until your enemies are made Your footstool." Well, if Jesus is in heaven, then the ONLY way the enemies can be made His footstool is by us---His BODY---on earth, and there are too many defeated, un-victorious, whining Christians still here, including many on this board who WANT to be whipped, defeated, and poor. So I believe we have a long way to go yet, although there is no doubt that JESUS IS COMING.

You should keep in mind that Hal has never said he was or is a prophet, but he is one of the most studious of the prophecy scholars and as such is bound to make mistakes, as does any other scholar.

If scholars made no mistakes, there would be no need of mal-practice insurance. For doctors, insurance agents and dentist are scholars.

A great example of bible scholars making mistakes is Revelation 6, the first horse, the white horse's rider. Hal and just about half the serious scholars say the rider is the anti-Christ.

But,

The other half say the rider is Christ come to rapture His church.

You can pretty much bet that half are wrong. Does that diminish the rest of their work?

I disagree, LS. I believe a great move of God is in the near future and HE will anoint the former whining, weak Christians and forge a unity between us that we cannot do ourselves. It's impossible for us to do it but nothing is impossible for God. 911 began something here in our nation, a turning to God, which WOULD NOT have happened had not 911 happened. We are going to have a great revival and people and nations will be changed. Do not rely on what you can see. Rely on what God and the angels in heaven are about to do. We ain't seen nothin' yet! Hallelujah! (We will eventually move toward the end time prophecies and things will not go well for Christians, but first we will be revived and we WILL carry out God's purposes for this nation and for the middle east.)

Another note: God is going to use our children and teens to bring about revival and evangelism. THAT is why satan is so intent on destroying them (Yates and others). We need to continually pray for our kids, our grandchildren and other young people we know, especially for protection.

I respectfully beg to differ.

2Ki 19:35 reminds us that a single angel (under Gods authority) can "cap" at least 185,000 soldiers per night.

Do you have some cite or reference that I can look up to find a statement of Hal Lindsey where he stated categorically that Christ was going to return in the 1980's? I don't recall that he ever prophesied anything. I always theought that he was a biblical analyist and not a prophet.

Anyway, since you made the statement and then condemned him for it, I believe that you , as a Christian, owe it to Lindsey and to all the lurkers here to prove your statement.

If you can't prove it, then either modify it or retract it.

Thanks.

Perhaps the precondition will be met immediatly after the tribulation when the Lord Jesus Christ will set up His 1000 year kingdom rule on the earth. I believe that he will seperate the survivors of the tribulation at that time and only the believers will enter the Kingdom; they will have children who must make a choice and that will necessitate the sacrificial system being reinstated so that "kingdom kids" will see that the cost of sin is death in an otherwise perfect world ruled by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ with his raptured saints in ministry to the flesh and blood children of Adam. This 1000 year rule will end and Lord Jesus will deliver the Kingdom age believers up to the Father. God;after the white throne judgement of the unsaved; will then destroy this fallen world by fire and create the new heavens and new earth and new Jerusalem, this will be the new beginnings of mankind saved by grace through faith in the finished work of only Jesus Christ on the cross some 2000 years ago.

A million thanks for your words of Biblical sanity.
