There's a big turd in the punchbowl and it's indeed called FBI ! FiBi's and their handlers need an overhaul from the TOP down IMHO........

Glad to hear your getting back to work. I'm saving up for a new boat, thinking ketch, about a 50 footer, small enough to singlehand when I need to and big enough for friends to go sailing with me ! Bout a year down the line (soonest) .

Travis is making me think about building my own. I'm looking into that, doing the research etc etc...... Ideas welcomed of course.

Stay Safe !

Hey Travis,
Be sure you include some wheels with those plans for that schooner Squantos wants to build. The only Maritime Environment I can think of around Squantos place is the water in his canteen.

Squantos, good luck on your prairie schooner, might I suggest you add a delta wing to it as well. With the winds you get up there you might be able to get to the widget factory faster by air.

If you start building your 50 footer now, you'll be sailing looking at the sunsets out of the mirror on your iron lung. If you're really handy, buy a fiberglass unit in disrepair, and bring her up to Bristol condition. I bought a C&C Landfall 38 in tough shape, and the liberal sprinkling of $70k made her into a yacht!

If you can keep your boat under 40 ft you can save a lot of money. Dock space and anchoring are priced at higher rates per foot for boats over 40ft in most places. Going down from 42 ft to 38 ft, a friend of mine cut his live aboard expenses by more than $15,000 a year.
