WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Declaring it was not the job of Congress to "rubber-stamp" the president's priorities, Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle insisted Sunday that the Bush administration must keep Congress better informed of its plans for the war on terrorism.

Frankly, I'll bet he has a lot more information than he lets on, and no one can call him on this because of security issues. He knows this, so he uses it. Let me put it more directly. I think he is probably lying about what he knows and how carefully he has been informed. I don't think he is stupid enough to compromise national security, so he can lie about not knowing about the "secret" government for example, when in fact it has been a plan in place since Eisenhower, and he was actually taken to one of its sites. He lied about that, so it's a fair guess, he is lying about the rest.

Not all, but the Congressional leadership should be reasonably well informed.
Does the name Leahy mean anything to you?

You're right. I must keep in mind the political angles of whatever comes out of the mouth of this twit.Nothing is political about Dashcle's desire for information before he commits to what he already committed to back in September.
If it was political he would have simply asked Bush at his last breakfast meeting, "WASUP? ", intsead he did what every thoughtful American Senator/Majority Leader should do in this situation. Go on national Televison and start spreading doubts and seeds of division so that our enemy can see that we are not exactly united.

The congressional leadership should be reasonably well informed before allocating funds. They are plenty well informed, particulary the Intelligence committee chairmen. Daschle is lying, as usual. Don't fall for his continued lies.

Lott: "Well, Tim, I want to make it clear that Tom Daschle is a good friend of mine" Yeah, he wimped out, almost maudlin, and disgrced the Republican party once again!!!!

And I remember a Senator who leaked classified info that got an agent for our country killed. I also recall other Senators who leaked planned operations, possibly putting our people at risk. These Senators were Democrats.
As far as I care, they will know we have begun an operation, but no details at all. If they don't like it, tough. But I won't have the folks who put their butts on the line for this country placed at any unnecessary risk because some Senator or Congressman leaked the details of an operation. As far as I care, CNN is notice enough that we have begun military operations.

For once in my life, I need to defend Trent Lott. He knows what the rest of us know. Tom Daschle isn't interested in legitimate inquiries into the warplan. Trent Lott knows that Tom Daschle is seeking to weaken President Bush. Trent Lott knows Tom Daschle is trying anyway he can to lower President Bush's popularity numbers. Trent Lott knows partisan political advantage is Tom Daschle's priority.
Do you remember that it was Tom Daschle who broke tradition by criticizing President Bush when he went on his first European trip as President? Daschle knew better, he knew the media would protect him when he offered his insincere apology. The deed was done, the seed was planted. Even delivered in soft-spoken, almost hushed tones, Dashcle's real motives are clear

Isn't this how it started when we were in Viet Nam? Didn't the demoncraps start out like this to undermine us while we were fighting?

Does anyone, anywhere in America think that daschle has EVER rubber stamped anything our President has tried to accomplish? I think not. What is the point of saying this-when this obstructionist, this American dividing, spirit crunching, war effort defeating, judge screwing, tax loving, commie pig has done nothing but undermine our President's efforts to change the tone and uplift and join our nation as one in his drive to elevate our culture and reaffirm our core beliefs in our foundations.
Tommy is a very soul sick man-and is shows on his face.

How do you think his attitude has impressed America today, during a time of terrorism and an effort to rebuild the economy? And what difference has the media played in covering his attitudes?

When Daschle and the Dems took over the Senate the votes
Bush needed to pass his agenda went from 50 to 60!
