If someone was bringing Chinooks up to the line of contact, that someone should be court martialed. Those damn things are not maneuverable. They're Stinger-bait, and they shouldn't be near the front line.

The Apaches appear to be having a good day of it, however.

Not exactly true. Chinooks are used in deep artillery raids and the 160th (Nightstalkers) put them to good use in their ops. A good pilot can make that aircraft do amazing things, plus it is equipped with flare dispensers to throw heat-seekers off track, plus it also has other self-defense equipment. It's a good aircraft, but it also takes a good pilot.

The entire country IS the front lines.....the raghead next to you could be the enemy. A raghead could get on a roof in Kandahar and fire one off and blend back in, in seconds.....

i am not disputing your point just making another one...
