I wonder. It appears to me that the Israeli and Palestinian game-plan is exactly the same: Tit for Tat.
If so, that ain't no strategery.
The objective ought to be to take from your enemy any further capability to hit you any longer. And that has to be done without regard to body counts.
That's why I thought it was ludicrous when the Lefties in this nation began to whine about how "the U.S. bombing campaign in Afghanistan took far more lives than were lost on 9/11!"
That's irrelevant. We weren't out to "even the score" (which at best would be a cynical, macabre action). We act, rather, to make sure that our enemies soon lose the ability to attack us in such a cowardly fashion ever again, by destroying those who would make such attacks and giving an object lessons to those who'd consider doing it in the future.
The Lefties who make this argument fail to understand that had al-Qaeda never attack us in the first place, there'd be NO body count!
So it is with Israel. I hope they are going to do what MUST be done to protect their citizens, not to cater to world opinion, which will never be favorable to them anyway.
The worm is turning on them. It is near.
